From what ive heard the male plant fertilizes the female plant which then makes seeds. The male plant makes a few skimpy buds, and the female makes the big juicy ones you smoke. they eliminate the male plant as soon as possible so it cant fertilize the female and reduce the quality/add seeds. weed with seeds just means they didn't remove the males quickly enough.
