What's your release?

Post by Zen »

OK now I know we all use marijuana as a release, how oculd you not? But I know that there are many other things us pot smoker sdo as well. Personally, my release as of late has been Taekwon-Do. I just started up in December, and just a few days ago I was double promoted to my Yellow Belt. It felt great! I could be having the shittiest day and then as soon as I step into the Dojan all the problems just start to melt away and my life feels good again. After class I have a clear head and it's no problem sorting out what I have to do.

Some other releases for me have been these boards, poetry/rhyme writing, and meditation.

It's great to just have a vent when you're pressure is at it's max and you're feeling about to burst or breakdown. SYstem overload! We've gota vent the pressure! Ya know? haha

So I'ld like to hear in detail what all of you fine people use as an emotional/mental/physical/spiritual release. Fly at her

Peace~

Working out seems to be a release for me, i use all the pressure and everything to do a superintense workout, and afterwords im just too tired to worry about anything.

Boxing is great if I'm having a shitty day then pounding on something or someone really makes me feel better. lol

Umm yea my journal has been a positive expeirence so far to especially after I took it off of these boards it seems I can write more personally when other people are not viewing it.

Driving my dirtbike real fast and doing pointless things to get a rush are also among the ranks.

Indeffinitely ctcf. I have some literature that I haven't posted on WG just because that way it doesn't need to be validated. I've written some pretty odd things in them that I would rather just keep close to myself and not have the world see. Maybe one day though, I'll post it up here, but probably not.

Working out works for me as well, especially when I close off my room, and crank my surround sound stereo volume up to 29/31 and toss on some Psytrance. Hell yeah that works well :D

I know this sounds sad but I really don't have any other release than weed. I don't like it this way and i am trying to do something about it. I do work out sometimes just to counter the enormous ammount of crap i eat. I don't see excersise as a release though, infact i put it off, but of course i look forward to smoking a big spliff at the end of it.
I have recently started making various types of music on cubase using a midi keyboard and drum machine as well as all the excellent tools cubase has to offer, this is sort of a release but im always either at work or smoking with mates. When i get my turntables next week I hope that will become a kind of release, me and my mates have got some wicked ideas involving his brothers old reggae vinyls and breaks/drum and bass. I might consider making a set for weedguru, sometime in the near future.

It used to be capoeira, haven't done that in a while

Now its either playing my guitar, reading a book or just hanging with friends
Computer games don't affect kids. I mean, if Pac-Man had affected us as kids, we would all be running around darkened rooms, munching magic pills, and listening to repetitive electronic music.

Wow! You practiced capoeira Flow? When did you learn that, and where also? That's gotta be one of the coolest martial arts I've ever read about. Especially the way it was developed and founded.

I just realized tonight btw that drinking 15L of 5 yeah old keg beer, is a good thing! and it was deffinitely a release tonight! Oh yes, and I sometimes smoke for release, not cigarettes, only cigars, and foreign cigarettes that have more cloves in them then nicotine.... yeah and pipe tobacco too, that stuff is just so natural

well i would say lately due to injury and not being able to get out much weedguru has been somewhat of a release along with reading a Hunter Thompson book that i bought not to long ago. when i read the book it lifts up my spirits.

when im not stuck in sitting or laying down all day i would say that my favorite releases aside from pot are golfing, swimming, working out, job, sometimes even school, and the occasional night of heavy drinking with friends.

the best part about golfing is being out on the golf coarse surrounded by trees wether by yourself or with someone else its a peaceful place as long as you dont let the game get to you. swimming has the same quality because it puts you in a peaceful environment, i dont really do it for the exercise as much as i enjoy the feeling of the water around me.

working out is unlike the the others because its a great way to relieve stress and once im done i have an overall great feeling for the rest of the day.

job and school can be entertaining at times because of the people around and the countless beautiful women i get to talk to. i also find alot of the stuff i learn in classes to be interesting and depending on the class it can even stimulate thought.

a night of heavy drinking with friends tends to just turn into a good time. my drinking buddies tend to be some funny and calm people so never any drama or arguing as some people do. it usually ends up being a night of laughs, adventures, and the occasional ass beating.

Just tell your penis you were too high to play with it.

Release...I'm not really sure. Listening to music really helps me a lot. Not really sure if there's anything else I do to relieve myself of stress.

Music is my release. If I had a bad day, I just take my mp3, load some killer tracks and kick back.
