I read this back when i use to be a mario puzo fanatic. i thought it was a great crime novel. vivid and sometimes gorey decriptions of a mafia tale.
i read some other mario puzo books as well but this one stuck in my mind. Its the story of one of the last great american dons and how he secretly came to power and how he so easily avoided the law. its a good page turner and sucks you into to the world of organized crime and violence.

my neopolitan fratello/sage/'father figure' told me to read a book called
'La cosa Nostra' which detailed much of the main sicillian mafia game from the 20th century. It must have been a good book as my mate kinda knew the scene, so he wouldnt have reccomended it unless it was a factual/intersting read...

I need to investigate more of my sicillian roots..
who knows maybe there is a whole town run by my family, where there is a war going on, and Im unwittingly next in line to be Don......

SOunds good though Doc, I would like to hear more about the traditions/values....
