That is one of the lamest ways ive seen to smoke, but it can be good in a tight spot, i wouldnt recomend it becaues it involves foil, not to mention it burns the toilet paper roll. Foil and tin cans are relally bad for youre lungs.

i'm new and am looking for something that i can make that isnt going to fuck my lungs. anyone?

Something you can make... I recommend just bending a popcan into a bowl, poking holes in it, making a carb, and you're good to go. Yes, it will fuck your lungs if you're new, but most pipes do.

If you want to make something that will deliver big, smooth hits, and treats your lungs nice, I recommend taking knife-hits through an ice chamber. Ahhhh.
