HARTSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- It's not to the Batcave -- but the pot cave.

Tennessee drug investigators say they've busted a pot growing operation in the Hartsville area that looks like something out of a Hollywood action movie.

According to prosecutors, the cave beneath a stylish A-frame home was equipped with sophisticated gear for lighting, irrigation and even humidity control.

The cave was reached by secret entrances from the house or through a tunnel big enough for a car.

Police say the underground pot farm could produce 100 pounds of high-quality weed every couple of months.

Tennessee authorities report arresting three suspects.

Surely if you were setting up an operation like that, you wouldnt just buy a large amount of equipment, you would start small and then get bigger. Sucks anyway

I see what you are saying..you are sorta right but let me explain something else to you.

Your average Joe doesn't grow quantites of weed like that. Organized crime rings do.

Grow ops that big don't usually belong to one specific person. See, in the big leagues there is always a 'boss'. He pockets the profits, lives the high life and never gets his hands dirty. His right handman takes care of things for him. The boss will give him the contract to start up a grow op (they already have several others running) This guy will find somebody that is willing to run the grow op. Like the guy in the news story. The guy maintaining the grow doesn't invest any money in it usually, just his time and his butt. HE makes considerable profit so it's well worth the risk.
So it's a new installation that gets busted..just not newbie growers and it's not someone just outta the blue who riggged themselves something like that.

See around here, you couldn't even have a grow that big and not be related to organized crime. They own the dope trade... you grow in mass quantites only with permission and having to pay them a percentage. I imagine most everywhere is the small. Small time doesn;t matter. You gotta have some big connections to be able to sell weed like that, that's not sold by the gram by the fifteen year old on the street corner.

around here you can sell any amount you wan't as long as your layin it low and do it silently...if you got a big mouth even small quantities may become a problem because there are always small worthless dealers that are imagining they are some big fish and want to make problems if you get in their bussiness no matter how small it is...cuz they live of it...

The "boss" would be making millions? Some large amount anyway, this wouldnt be his only grow set up, the whole organization would be a very profitable busines to get into. One with a very high risk nevertheless
