sending a computer with illegally downloaded files to dell

one of the fans inside my computer has started making weird noises, basically it sounds fucked but it doesnt look it.

im considering sending it to dell to be fixed cause its under warranty, the problem is theres loads of movies, music and porn downloaded using p2p's and im wondering if dell see it (even though they shouldnt be looking) they'll grass me

who thinks this is risky buisness

im gonna try and persuade dell to send me the fan cause i'll say i cant afford to be without the computer - it should be easy enough to fit myself

Well to be safe back up your stuff on cds and then send it to them. I think they only grass you to the police when you got like Kiddy porn and shit on it. Or you could just buy a fan for like a tenner and put it in yourself. Choice is yours

Replacing a fan requires the case to be opened, not the pc to be turned on.

If they did check your files they violated your privacy (i take it you got a moderator password and user passwords on it?) they'd need to get through your passwords to get into the files, so that would be hacking right?

spot on! i never thought of that, i would buy a fan myself but its a funny looking thing, its got this green case thing which makes the air only focus one thing, probably the processor i didnt take too much notice

edit: it was actually the graphics card fan, ive took it out hoovered it and it sounds fine now, the next mod to read this ight aswell lock the thread
