hey does anyone know where ican download a compactversion of direct x 9.0 or whatver is the latestversion???i cant do it fromthe microsoft site as it says my product key is invalid

it makes games and stuff work i think and multimedia. its a shame tom isnt here he would probably know somewhere wherre you could downoad with no hassle

yeh tom is theking of computers, without any doubt. but some others got good knowledge too. yeh it hinkdirect x just for graphics handling and sounds. i dont know if i really need to get direct x 9.0 as i think i have 8 onthis pc, and cant see my mum needing better visuals and sound performance bearing in mind,she mainly only stretches the graphics capabalitlies to see some nice photos of our cats. maybe i just leave with direct x 8.0??or is it important to have most up to date version???

DirectX just allows you to see graphics in a better way. If she only wants to look at photos then she doesnt really need it at all, its only for games

For a Pc that is only going to be used for photos, then I wouldnt bother. Unless anyone is going to be playing the latest games on it, there is no point
