legal issues?

Hey, I didnt know where else to put this, so sorry if i offend.

NE ways, i was thinking about growing, but im worried about legal issues. First off, i live in North Carolina (in the US) and i heard that it is not illegal to grow, as long AS YOU DONT TRIM, since the plants doesnt yield buds if you dont. from what i also hear, is all they do if you dont trim is take it away. I was wondering if anyone knew if this was true, and if anyone knew of an official government site posting the laws on it are. i found the one below, but im not sure if its official, and i heard that pussy bush recently changed the laws.

yeah, those are the sites i looked at b4, and i figured it be illegal. I was just wondering it the laws changed cause bush just passed a bunch of shit about drug laws. It kinda made me laugh when bush told parents to monitor their children and then his two daughters spend 40,000$ on alcohol in one night (is that even possible, with only 13 people?)
