nah man, gameplay still takes a big part in my gamingbook

But: Xbox is cheaper, theyre all gonna use HD, xbox360 can be upgraded to use blueray in the future, adn i have enough money to buy both

Question: I've heard rumors that the PS3 will be able to play Xbox and GC games, as well as ps2 and old playstation. Can somebody confirm this for me, with a link to the proof?

i highly doubt that. I mean seriously, wouldnt that break some type of law. i mean there is a law for everything right?

Yeah I'm thinking it's not true. Sony would have to pay the other companies. Oh PS3 is supposed to be expensive as fucking hell, people are predicting $499 american. So in Candada.... umm anybody know a website where I can find some kind of regional cash converter? Higher you reading this?

I'm gonna get the 360, I want Halo 3. If the PS3 is built anything like the ps2 it'll have broken down in 5 mins anyway. Also I don't have HDTV or anything, just 100Hz Widescreen so I'm not gonna get the full graphics benefit. But if Halo 3 is as bad as Halo 2 I'm gonna shove my Xbox so far up Bill Gates ass...

360 is also going to be HD. I don't have a HDTV either, but it will still be cool. I think PS3 runs at like 60 fps, double that of ps2.
Yeah I know a few people who are getting 360 for Halo. Personally I want PS3 for Metal Gear 4, and I want to play Snake Eater without having to buy a ps2.

Yeah I know, I meant I didn't think it was worth paying extra for the PS3 as I'd have thought you wouldn't notice the graphics differences so much without HDTV etc.
Hopefully MS might actually let you play DVDs and have proper audio outs without paying another £50 on top this time

Gundam will be released for PS3, Looks freaking sweet too. I always thought Gundam was for nerds, but think about it, giant robots with guns?

PS3, 360, and the Revolution will all have DVD capabilities btw. PS3 is gonna have a DVD burner for some reason. Personally I'd rather it didn't include the burner, just puts the cost up.

Analyst: Sony could wait till '07 to launch PS3

In a research memo sent to investors, Wedbush senior analyst Michael Pachter set up the following scene for a delayed PS3 launch. It starts with the current-generation Xbox being priced down to $99 post-Xbox 360 launch, but no lower. Concurrent with that situation--an Xbox 360 at an unspecified price and the Xbox at $99--Sony would drop the price of the PlayStation 2 to $99.

There are two components to that pricing strategy: the first is that a $99 PS2 would offer a significant distraction as the 360 launches. As Pachter states: "We believe that the company will attempt to disrupt the Xbox 360 launch with a price cut, and as a result may succeed in diverting attention away from the higher-priced next-generation console."

In addition to the "diversion rationale" is the supporting fact that "the redesigned PS2 carries a manufacturing cost of less than $99," according to Pachter. New consoles are noteworthy for the fact that at the beginning of their manufacturing cycle, the units are sold at a loss. Given that the PS2, according to Pachter, would cost less to make than to sell, it behooves Sony to extend demand for that product for as long as possible. And if Microsoft takes the Xbox price no lower than $99 (still a loss for Microsoft, according to Pachter), Sony will find itself in a win-win situation.
