messenger service spyware

hey people, anyone got ne programs that are free to download and will clean my mates sytem of spyware and adware??i tried using adaware, but it hasnt got rid of this annoying 'messenger service' window that keeps popping up that i know to be bad news. any ideas people

there is a registry fix for that messenger service window, as it isnt really spywar i dont think i will try and find it
