Yeah man, sorry to say but I agree with cameron when he says Avenged Sevenfold are shite.
I used to really like 'em a few months back but now most of their songs just sound the same to me.
And he also has a fair point when he said its like comparing bob to darrell

OK that's a good point with the comparison thing,

Avenged still rule though. Their songs aren't all the same, they're just in the same key, that's all.

It's your preferance, but if you look at the lyrics I mentioned, they have certain quality. Now, I'm not saying they're great, memorable or nowhere near stuff like Marley, Tupac etc, but when compared to a lot of other music that is listened to nowdays (like 50Cent, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani etc) they aren't that bad, because they actually have some meaning. The sad thing is that they sold out and that music is becoming a business more and more. They're just clowns now.

its not just them i dont like. musically their shit. There are bands that I dont like but I respect cause they can actually play their instruments and/or have a good voice. But green day flat out sucks in every catagory i can think of besides appealing to a bunch of 13 year old girls

you know im really not sure. i think its their whole image that attracts fans. the whole die your hair black, spike it up and jump up and down while playing guitar just appeals to some people i guess

Just because they sell records does not mean their music kicks ass. It means their target demographic happens to be larger than other bands' demographics. Look at Twisted Method, rap-metal group from Cape Coral, put out one album and broke up 2 years later. Green Day is just lucky that America is full of, well, American Idiots. Oh, and consumer whores.

Green Day try to be political...yet, they're not. Theyare shit punk, if they're even worth calling that. I hate billie joe's voice. i hate how a bunch of people started listening to them from american idiot and are "obsessed" with them, and say they're "punks". It pisses me off like hell. Overplayed, over payed, and i'm glad i only listened to them when i didn't knmow shit about music...that faze is lonmg gone

but seriously making an entire new thread just to tell people how much you hate a band because they're not "punk" is pretty retarted, and im guessing why people got into them more because of american idiot is because they didnt hear about them before american idiot came out, i heard them when i saw the video for american idiot, i have all but 2 of their albums, american idiot isnt their best, but its probly not their worst either

green day is one of favorite bands, and i listen to zeppelin and pink floyd and shit like that too, and i dont really say ones better then the other, its just good music to me and thats why i listen to it

They cant play their instruments for shit and the singer has a girly voice. I dont like any of that pop punk stuff or whatever it is but i can respect some of it cause they can actually play. thats not true for green day its all about their appeal to little girls and studio sound. i heard them play live on mtv once and they sounded like a bunch of 11 year olds that have been playing guitar for a month

bollocks, (obviously) they can play there instruments, just because they cant play to the standards of the musicians you like it doesnt mean they cant, you know your talking shite so you might aswell shut up now, i dont think 11 year olds would understand most green day lyrics
