I'm going to celebrate Canada day tomorrow by going to work and getting paid $22.50 an hour to do it.
Then I'm partying Saturday night, chillin' on Sunday...and I can celebrate the 4th if I want because my work is closed because it's an american company.
So I still get a 3 day weekend...just not Friday.

oh man caro that sucks, I bought some crazy fireworks while I was in Quebec! So my Canada day will be a blast!! heh...oh corny. They certainly aren't illegal! You can get them anywhere just gotta be 18...

yeah man right on for the lesson! I'm sure a lot of canadians don't even know! Is Canada Day a bigger deal over in PEI? Cus that's where the whole confederation shiznit went down huh? All I have to say, is that it's one long ass bridge.Shwoot wrote:Nobody, that's why it isn't independance day. It the aniversary of when the Fathers of Confederation first brought up the idea of joining the provinces to gether to form Canada.cutthecashflow wrote:Same concept though right?
O yes and who did Canada declare independence from?

Yup, they were at a meeting in PEI when they thought up the idea, so it's a big deal. We always have huge festivals and big bands come, and most provinces probably do too but this is like the single event that our government puts alot of effort in to. Finger Eleven played here last night, um, Kalan Porter is coming but he sucks, um, yeah most of the other bands suck. They're still big names though! Rufus Wainright was here last year.

I just spent the last 14 hours hauling furniture. Damn its a bitch after having stopped for so long. All the pains come back!! The worst thing that i get is swollen fingers you know from grasping heavy stuff all day. So damn annoying hands swollen shut in the morning, stiff as a board. I have to like pull my hand open and run it under cold water for like 5 minutes before it is sorta ok. Oh, and then there is the chaffed inner thiighs , and constant bumps bruises and cuts. But anyways you eventually get used to this after a bit, its just that when you stop you have like restart from zero again, develop the resistance or whatever again.

Glad to hear that you had a good time. I didn't know you're Canadian, what part are you from?
My Canada day was boring as heck. We had a barbecue, but I struggled to eat stuff because of my toungue piercing. We shot fireworks at cows, watched the fireworks in town from across the water (biggest in Canada btw, $65 grand) and then just had a long boring bonfire, went home at 12.
