liverpool- luckiest euro cup winners in history

i was less than astonished after seeing liverpools scandalous run of luck continue all the way to then end of this years eruopean cup campaign. First against Juventus, there was a definite, i mean like 2 yards onside, goal by del piero, which was dissallowed. again despite liverpools mammoth efforts juve hit the post, so to me liverpool had a great deal of luck in that game.
then against cheslea, they get through the tie on a goal which didnt pass the line. again stupidly lucky.
so on to the final, 3-0 down and been outplayed, they did well toget back into the tie, but were very lucky to be allowed to do so, then in extra time they were battered for 30 mins. what angered me the most tho, was jerzey dudeks antics when milan were taking their penalities. He was without any doubt more than 2-4 ft off his line when two of the penalities were taken. he was using the rarely seen technqiue of moving about like abreak dancer to try put his opponents off, and this is fine. no real advantage, but for him to jump off the line before the ball has been struck is against the rules of the game. penalties are the worst way of decding a game i reckon, but its a disgrace that nobody did nething about dudek last night cos he was cheatng and cheating intentionally.

i really really hope that liverpool are not given speciall allowances to particpiuate in next years competition. maybe real madrid were allwoed to in the past, i am not sure, but we need to get this competiont back to where it poriginally was positioned as the ultimate champions competition in the world, often producing more skill and techqnue than national competitions. now its about money not finding the best of the best cos liverpool are not the best of the best. they couldnt even finish 4th in therio domestic league. i say well done to chelsea tho cos they did a wicked job this year and mourihno has convinced me that he is the best manager in europe.

I dont think he came off his line until the ball was kicked, but he did come a good bit off it. But he made some sick saves, you cant knock him for that

well i was ecpecting abita back lash, but it seems my opinions are shared!dudek was definately off his line for at least one, if not more of the first 2/3 penalties that milan took. he made a couple of wicked saves in the game, as did dida.i had my moan, and liverpool have the cup so thats that really. just think they the luckiest eruo cip winners ever.

can't believe you say liverppol won through luck you can't win with just luck they deserved that cup they worked harder than the other teams and got everything they deserved. juve were lucky not to conceed more goals the only reason it was so close was the quality of their keeper and thats the same for chelsea and by the way if you have studied that goal as much as i have you will notice that gallas' left foot was just infront of the line yet he had to stretch his right leg out to hook the ball out. watch a replay to see what i mean.

liverpool are worthy champions:
they beat last years losing semi-finalists and finalists, the got a good draw out the hat with levcusion (sp?). At anfield they deserved to beat juve and in the second leg juve the only chances came to baros and that juve player who hit the post. They chelsea game could have gone either way, the ball wasnt over the line but it would have been a penalty if they hadnt played on. in the final over then 120 miniutes millan were better but liverpool have to be credited for coming back so well. besides in '99 Bayern Munich were by far the better team against Man U. In conclusion

they made their own luck

And now theys FIVE english teams in the champions leauge next year. and soon (five or six years) nottingham forest will be back there as well. hurah!

i would say in my football viewing history that the best euro cup i ever saw was undoubedtly milan v barca. 4-0 to the rossoneri and a truly outstadning display of football against a very talented cruyffy barca team.

since then i havent really seen one neweher near as entertaining with the same quality of football.

i think the biggest shame is that money has taken precedence over criteria. it wouldnt bother me if you called it 'the champions and 2nd 3rd and 4th teams cup' as that would be more valid, for some countries neway. liverpool to me cant be the champions of champions unless they start of as champions of their own domain, which they didnt, and wont for a very long period i would estimate cos they got a manager and players who are not 2getha. also they dont have ne world class players.

yeh they madetheir own luck but also cheated in the pens!!!man united made their own luck aginst munich and didnt cheat. theres a difference there for me. i can understand how liverpool supporters are so happy, but what they achieved isnt the same as past champions as they werent champions int he first place.

its annoying that more teams are let inthe comp just to make more money. it was farbetter when it was just champions of each country.
