I had my plant under a blacklight in 85 F. temp. it was about 3" Tall, it was going good until the leaves started to close back up. What does this mean and how can I treat it?

A blacklight wont do shit trust me. You want to use a HPS or a MH. go to www.overgrow.com

Yeah like Magic_mush is saying first use an HPS (a real grow lamp) first, and then while you have the HPS on use the black light on the side to add another spectrum of light to your plants grow cycle, just dont use only a black light

What's the best type of lighting I could use all year long? HPS?? Doesn't that stand for High Pressure Sodium? Like, I don't want to switch any type of lights, I just want to use 1 type of light and thats it.

HID and HPS lamps require a ballast to function. An HID bulb will not ignite in a socket wired directly into the fuse box, and would definately be dangerous. There are no inexpensive shortcuts to providing HID or HPS lighting. You must match the bulb with the proper ballast, wiring, and socket. Spend the money on a complete fixture.
If there is no way you can do this then go with a basic Fluorescents

The upper and lower ends of light intensity in lumens would be from around 200 lumens per sq. foot to 400 lumens per sq. foot.

An HPS High Pressure Sodium bulb is better for the flowering stage of life and the HID light is better at the starting of the plants life. But the over all best light to get is the HPS it can work throught out the whole plants life.

you can increase the light by useing foil or maylar

Alright, Thanks. That website http://www.bestgrowlights.com/ Is becoming VERY Helpful, I think I'm going to start out with Basic Fluorescents, And make some profit off of the First Harvest, then Get a REAL Lighting System, and MORE plants So I can get a bigger yield, I just wanted to ask, What kind of system are you running, and how many plants are you growing?

Right now I cant grow anything so I dont have a system. Trance and me are growing shrooms as soon as he gets all the stuff we need.
