If you're not scared of Alligators, how can you be afraid of jail? Leslie Strickland of Florida said she was just trying to do the right thing when she loaded a 6 ft badly injured alligator in the backseat after hitting the animal with her car. Actually, she hit the gator on Friday, and went back to rescue it the next night after becoming overcome with guilt. She brought the reptile home and hosed him down. But she couldn't get anyone on the phone at Fish and Game. Stricklands neighbours, who by the way have kids and a small dog, told her that they weren't exactly comfortable with her new man-eating friend. So she loaded the gator bak into the car and drove around, looking for a place to release it. THe gator got sick of the drive and began thrashing around in the backseat. Strickland lost control and drove into a ditch. Then she fled the scene. Officers trying to arrest Srickland said she "freaked out" about going to jail. It took several cops to subdue her.
