So i got a job today, my first job ever, in a pub down the road from me. So anyway, after my interview im told i start Tuesday night and i'm like yeah, thats cool. I get home, turn on the TV then i realise, the Chelsea - Man United game is on Tuesday and im gonna fucking miss it! Alot of my mates are united fans and a couple are Chelsea and i've been looking forward to having the boys round, having a few beers, a few spliffs and watching Chelsea hammer em but now i gotta miss the fucking thing! Shit man, this is just confirming my long time belief that working is for mugs. I wonder if me getting someone to cover my first shift will go down well....

The best plan of action is to phone them up, say uve got a prior engagement like a birthday and change your start day. Tell them you really hate doing it and dont really want to go to the engagement but you always keep your word. That way you look likea decent person!!!

Yeah but it's my first day and i need this job. There aint anything riding on the game, we've already won the title and i spose it's only a football match afterall, and the same game is gonna happen at least twice next season. I watch every football match with my mates, it just sucks dick that i gotta miss this one.

I could get my shift covered but they didnt give me that many shifts to start with to see how i do and i want quite a few more, so i dont really want to make them think i'm so unreliable that i bail out of the first day of work i've ever done in my life, know what i mean? Spose i've gotta be responsible for once.
