I live in the #1 fastest growing Community in the U.S (well that is what my professor told me). It is pretty boring around here. Got a shitload of fast-food places, a bowling alley and that is about it. the malls and movie theatre's are about 15 minutes away. If you really want to have fun then go to Downtown Nashville on a weekend night. Country folks at our finest. :D

Man, I wouldn't like that at all Purple Monkey!! It's just barely starting to warm up around here +4 degrees celcius.

I live about a 20 minute drive from Halifax, Nova Scotia. Halifax is the largest city east of quebec city. It's the capital of NS.

Where I live is about a 20 minute drive away, but by public transit, it's more like 1 1/2 hours.

Mmmm...I wish I had something to drink right now.

I was going to suggest you go there if you are ever desperate for skunk but you're way ahead of me! In the summer at least just ask enough stoner-looking people and eventually you'll get sorted. That is in the summer of course so obviously its a lot busier due to us tourists, so I'm not sure how easy it is to pick up outside summer.

Caro talked about Seattle a little bit before, but I still feel the need to contribute. It's a small city, fairly laid back. Lots of junkies and homless people. Large vegan population, which is one of the reasons why I live here. Some years it does rain a lot, but this year has been dry, sunny, and beautiful! We have tons of trees, hiking is a short drive to the east. We also have moutains, in every direction, plus there are tons of lakes, the sound, and the sea. Although there are many chill people here, we are lacking in the cute, straight, single guy section. Oh, and of course good weed, theres lots of BC bud floating around this city.

Whats my city like? A homeless man today asked me for 8 bucks today so he can go buy a rock, And then offered to share it with me.

What is my city like? The cops are most times more crooked then the felons, Im stuck in the law system now over some bullshit i didnt even do.

My citys a peice of fucking shit and everybody knows it.

The mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kwilpatrick, Is known to drive around town in a limo, Screaming obsence things and snortning coke and partying hard as hell. His body guards wont work for him after hours because hes too dangerous. And to top that off, He jus closed down 12 of Detroit schools for money problems. Where is detroits money going? To his wife, So she can have a Lincoln Navigator fully loaded. To him, So he can keep his coke habit under control. His bodyguard beat up a local news crew guy trying to get information about his wifes illegal Lincoln Navigator.

Meh, Im pissed..

Heres some links showing my citys going to shit, And full of murder...

http://www.pipeline.com/~rgibson/murder.htm - A murder a day, Less then half solved...
More murders go unsolved

Detroit officials blame low 45% success rate on inexperienced detectives, lack of training

When police fail to solve serious crimes such as homicides, experts say it creates a devastating effect on the community, especially in cities such as Detroit that are trying to rebuild.

Instead of creating a new image in people's minds, criminals feel more confident committing their crimes while residents lose faith in their community as a safe place.

"When people get the sense the streets aren't safe and police aren't solving crimes, people who can move out of the city," said James Fyfe, a criminal justice professor at Temple University in Philadelphia. "It leaves a city destitute and desperate."

Fyfe, a former New York City police lieutenant, called Detroit's rate of solving homicide cases "surprisingly low," especially because criminals tend to kill people with whom they are acquainted.

We always have to chuckle when city boosters talk about Detroit’s image problem. They decry how media consistently portray our fine city in a negative light. The “demon media,” as Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick might say.

DETROIT — Homicides in Detroit were up nearly 50 percent in the first three months of this year compared to 2003, a crime surge that far outstrips other major cities in the United States.

Detroit recorded 102 homicides by April 1, which was capped by the deaths of five family members who were strangled or beaten. By comparison, the city posted 68 homicides in the first three months of 2003, according to records reviewed by The Detroit News. If the current trend continues, Detroit could finish the year with more than 500 homicides for the first time since 1994.

Detroit is projected to finish the year with a child homicide rate higher than in Los Angeles, Chicago and other large cities checked by the Free Press.
http://www.wsws.org/articles/2000/may2000/det-m17.shtml - Detroit leads US in police killings
Detroit police officers kill citizens at a higher rate than police in any other big US city, according to FBI statistics made public by the Detroit Free Press Monday, May 15. Detroit had a rate of 0.92 fatal shootings per 100,000 residents, far higher than New York and Los Angeles, two cities recently scandalized by revelations of widespread police killings and brutality.

Detroit, with nearly 1 million residents, averaged nearly 10 fatal police shootings each year between 1990 and 1998. By comparison, New York, with 7.3 million residents, averaged 28 fatal shootings a year during the same period—a rate of 0.39.

makes me feel guilty when i say my town sucks. I'm really thankful for living in a town like mine, it's small but theres no murdering or anything "bad" even though we live 20 minutes from a couple cities where this does happen (not even close to as bad as u though).

I live in the lovely town of Leuven, Belgium.

Image

I live in the white building that's half-hidden behind the church tower.

Image

Our lovely train station, completely deserted between 2am and 5am, so you can just light up a spliff in there. Awesome.

Image

Old Market square, holding no less than 33 bars in one square (and that's not counting snack bars and little bistros). My favourite bar is in the middle of the pic, the one with the white parasols in the front, it has 2 pool tables on the first floor where I play for free 8)

Image

The park, the best place to chill and have a joint when it's hot outside. Cops don't even bug you if they see you smoking, as long as you're not bothering anyone or causing trouble.

Our town is known as a beer town. We have huge student population (almost half our town is younger than 26), and students get mighty thirsty sometimes, which explains our 33 bars in one square  Drugs are abundant, mostly weed and hash (mostly courtesy of yours truly), party drugs like coke, E and speed are fairly easy to come by. Trip drugs are a bit harder to get, unless you know the right people.

The cops aren't too bad, they don't bother you if you toke one up in an alley or something.
