Urban Exploration
Last weekend I broke into an old abandoned flour mill. I climbed fourteen stories to the roof and sat up there over looking the city and all the industrial yards surrounding the area. It was so much fun! I shoot a bunch of photos of the place. Lots of heavy machinery covered in cobwebs. I'm looking for other areas to explore including ghost towns. Anyone else here do this? Got any good stories? Good pics?

That reminds me of climbing stuff... water towers... Dana were you with me when we climbed that tower at Discovery Park?
Man, when I was a kid I lived downtown (Seattle). I figured out how to climb a wall in the garden of a bar (the Rock Bottom, on 5th Ave). I had access to this huge roof that was directly beneath the curving up of the Rainier tower. It covers several acres and spans between 5th and sixth avenue, directly under all these scyscrapers and 3-5 blocks above street level. We used to go there at night to get drunk and smoke weed, or when we were on mushrooms.

Ive done quite a bit of that shit. Parts of Detroit are deff a ghost town. Atleast half the city besides downtown is abanoded buildings and half burnt down buildings.
Theres the abandonded train station down on Michigan Avenue here in Detroit. Place was worth millions and millions, Now nothing more then a peice of shit. But ive been in there before, Its crazy as hell. Ive smoked up in there. But the place is littered with bums and jus psychotic ass mother fuckers. Cops will no go into the place anymore...
Theres alot of pictures of Detroit on this website. Check out www.seedetroit.com then click on Urban Decay.

Yeah, I was walking down the train tracks near my house and wandered off because I felt more intact with my self-being in a mental state...so I was trying to get away from it all....and I came across this very very old railroad track....it was about 3 inches shorter in width than regular tracks...I followed it down and found one of those old hand-pump cars to get around on...I always go there now, stoned or not....to just.....think

I remember when i first began to smoke i would want to go to all the "haunted" places that everyone talks about. Needless to say, they were full of crap and i found no sign of paranormal activity. My favorite thing i like doing i going down to the boat dock and i know this place where the land extends out into the water, i will take a chair out there sat down and smoke. its soo peaceful and sometimes you can see HUGH catfish that swim to the surface.

there are old mining buildings around where my nan lives.. by the cliffs overlooking the sea.. its hardly urban, but none of cornwall really is. but wherever i go, i try to find somewhere interesting to smoke... a fav of mine is in a park in truro... about 10 miles from where i live, theres a bench underneath a big oak tree.. really peaceful, can see out over the city.. its especially nice of an evening, watching the lights.

My favorite is going back to my old grade school and smoking on the roof there. They were doing construction up there so they had some cool shit up there for a while. It feels even more rebellious than normal cuz they have signs all over that says something about violations to the rules and everyone will be prosecuted after 10pm.

Right now just down the road from my house there's a construction site beginning and they have all these huge dirt mounds like 15 feet up that ring around..perrrrrfect place to go toke up, I swear nobody can ever see you down there. And after you get all stoned you go up to the top and the view is fucking nuts.

Re: Urban Exploration
you should be careful in coal mines. I don't know if I'd venture down into one. They tend to collapse. I'm sure you know this already, but You know, just thought I'd mention it just in case.Stan wrote:havent done it but there is an old abbandon coal mine i wouldnt mind exploring but its all boared up with sheet metalpunkdana wrote:Last weekend I broke into an old abandoned flour mill.
