the most destructive force
What if the world was really designed,
By a power that meticulously refined,
The original plan until it worked a treat,
A world of cold, wet, dry and heat,
In which everything had enough to survive,
When it was finished, the humans were the last to arrive,
From the boss, the creator,
The final piece of the earth jigsaw, put in place,
then he said he’d come back later….
But he hasn’t returned,
And the foundations of a planet so carefully made have been burned,
by humanity,
the species which doesn’t understand the concept of charity,
only greed,
it is never enough to be able to breathe the air and feed,
each other,
we don’t worship the mother,
called earth,
or realize her true worth.
We take what we want,
And we don’t put it back,
The rain was once clear,
Now it’s turning black,
Was it the cats, was it the rats?
No, it was the people who destroy life just to decorate their flats…
The most destructive force in effect is the man of white skin,
He has been responsible for each and every planetary sin,
Unable to recognize the importance of the word, sustain,
Careless in chasing goals regardless of the pain,
They cause,
By the system they have created and the wars….
When this group found people living off the sun and the land,
They just didn’t have the capacity to understand,
that humans can be part of the global community,
instead they saw an easy opportunity,
to take more and make more,
kill more and drill more,
I wonder why,
They didn’t stop to try,
Work out why,
People could be happy living in huts,
Instead of in a society where the girls who get most are the ones with nice butts,
And thighs,
Tempting, alluring eyes,
Been Chased by successful guys,
With nice suits, smart ties,
Men, who have made their fortunes by telling lies,
Actively involved in a system which won’t accept darkness at night,
There must be light,
So we burn the world’s deposits of coal,
Continue the belief system in money over soul.
For most in the west,
It’s easy to peacefully rest,
Cos we don’t care,
About the problems we are creating for our future generations to bear,
Whats important is the here and now,
Finding new fields to run through with a plough,
Then make concrete over what used to be clean,
Its better have a surface flat and grey, than changing and green…
We are destroying an amazing planet which was once pristine……
to survive in our altered habitat,
you gotta work, to pay for the rent of the flat,
prodcue, then go quickly consume,
add to the size of the impending doom,
pay your bills,
fill the shop tills,
give 40 hours of your week to a cause you dont share,
conform to laws which are in no way fair,
instead focused,
on keeping things the way they are,
everybody united in the capitalist advance and owning a car,
the days spent in the office, the nights in the bar,
a holiday in the sun once a year and maybe a cuban cigar,
we have poisoned the rivers, the air, and the soil,
when i look out my window i only see remnants of a world which we have worked so hard to spoil,
pollution,
will one day result in a sinsiter conclusion,
for the race,
who thinks they own the place,
lacking respect,
for the other creatures on this planet, whose lives we infect,
with toxic waste,
dumped with haste,
poisonous gasses,
affecting even the glacial crevasses.
should there be any question?
even a suggestion,
that god has failed his people?
no, cos it us who have failed,
and one day for sure on our own swords we will all be impaled.
and made to pay the price,
for not been content with living a life around the trees and the rivers, living off rice......
if i had my way,
id go existlike a hermit,
but in this fucked up society,
i would probably need a permit......

just a lickle response
Yeh weedguru animal
Just stepped into the realm a couple of days ago
Glad I did, cos I enjoy the liberation of both weed and poetry/rhymin'.
I haven't dug in the crates yet, but read a couple of yours....I'm feelin it so far....can recognise the flow that develops from a single spark and just rolls until it's just the end naturally....
I'm gonna read more....you are really prolific..
Hope you can appreciate my words...see Amsterdam lyrics...would love some feedback...may post some more.....
Later
Peace

Jus reading some more of your stuff.
I realy like the imagery oyu use and can see you find this shit therapeutic. To challenge yourself, i'd love to see some rhymes that use other formats, i.e not always rhyming one line with the last, trying a different rhyme pattern. Hope that this is useful...I don't mean any offence....it's just that i know personally that it's great everbody saying 'I love your poems', but for me one more critical piece of feedback is worth 50 of those...agaion, no disrespect intended
Keep doin the do
Peace

hey people, cheers for the response!supasayer, thanks for the praise and suggestion of new rhyme patterns, i think that myself a lot when i read over my stuff, but to be honest, i generally just write my rhymes asthey come into my head, i dont often go back and edit, this why i just anovice poet i guess!!Most the rhymes are written when i sit down, roll ajoint and just write. now this may result in my rhumes not sounding as good as they could , but it it also results in the rymes been my feelings in the order that they come out and with the imagery that comes out. but ye supersayer, constructive critisicism is good, especially when mixed with praise!!i do really appreciate people stopping to write few lines, it does make me keep coming back to write more. neway i keep writing, and maybe i spare athought to think about chagning the ryhming pattern a little in my next ryme, but more likely i just keep doing what i doing!!
cheers
animal
(thanks also caro!, i thought this was one of the best ryhmes i written for a while, they always more inyteresting when they about the world in general rathe rthan just me!!)
