yeah a normal lamp won't work. you'll need to get fluoros or hps for a big enough wattage to grow

i've heard the peroxide thing too but i think it might fuck your seeds up so your plants suffer....plus using a paper towel is way easier

I used a moist sponge and put my seeds in the pores of it, they germinated just fine and now i have 7 plants on the way

those hps lights are way too pricy. Im using incandescent light which does work but according to some growing guide... it emits far-red light which will concentrate growth on the stem...

can someone tell me where I can get some Grolux lights for cheap... Id want just 1ft lights, and to be able to easily put them in my grow spot (to where they wont constantly be in my way)

try ebay or newspapers sale sections, when i start a grow opp im just gonna have a striplamp with a fluer bulb, on chains so i can higher n lower it

Hahaha, i guess Im a cheapass. I can lower and raise the light, but its too much of a hassle, so until my plant gradually gets bigger and bigger I put it on a cardboard box... the sprouts only about an inch high so far so Ill have to find some smaller boxes

go to a hydroponics store for gro lux, they only cost about $20 for a two footer. the fixture will cost you about $40 which will hold two tubes

im using two 4' lights in one fixture for 2 plants, and i havent transplanted them yet, but they are growing! also im using 1 flouro and 1 aquatic/planting light.. its got that pinkish hue to it.. this mix seems to work well..

as far as germ.. i like the paper towel method.. get you a chips ahoy bag (with the tray and the bag) wash it out well.. lay down a paper towel in there, line the seeds up, put another paper town on top, and moisten the paper towels, stick the tray in the bag, and seal the bag

you can almost leave it alone for up to a week and a half without checking it out.. but germming can take anywhere from 2days to 2 weeks, you just gotta be patient.
