Vol. 1

IMO the least Tarantinesque film out of Quentin's movies, but definetly one of the best. The music by The RZA is just perfect for the movie, which bathes in some sort of B-martial arts campy kind of atmosphere. Ridiculous amounts of blood spray from a ridiculous amount of chopped off limbs. Yuen Wo-Ping and his team choregoraphed the fight scenes ( and partake in the showdown at the House of Blue Leaves), and it shows. Screw Neo, Morpheus and Agent Smith, The Bride kills them all.

Vol. 2

And this is where the fun stops. In Vol. 2, Tarantino replaced fighting with dialogue (there is only one big fight in the movie), which sucks a lot of the fun out of the movie. It's still a good movie on its own, but it's not a good movie when compared to Vol.1. The ending is down right disappointing, the final showdown lasts a whopping 30 seconds. The only scenes I really enjoyed were the training from Pai Mei and the Bride vs. Elle in Budd's camper.

I just saw volume 1, and I plan on seeing volume 2 very, very soon. That movie was fucking kickass.
