I'll try and give you a fresh perspective, because I don't know anything about the situation other than what you told me...

It seems like he was a fraud.. maybe someone close to him was the one who went on the site, and posted like they were him. I have no idea why..

Nevermind.. if you'd talked to him before and he knew you then...

my friend went to rehab and when i called him up when he came out after 3 months, he said "i dont know you" and hung up.

maybe he got clean and is afraid to go near anything even reminiscent of any drug.

That's exactly the kind of helpful discourse I'm looking for here.
I thought about it a lot... but the more I think about it, the more I think it was a different guy than the one I talked to at the same number last September. He didn't seem to understand English as well as Higher did, and his voice was definitely (maybe? they were both french

I'm a stupid uncultured American) deeper than Higher's. If he was indeed a clean, sober and paranoid Higher, I don't think he would have stayed on the phone with me for so long (1/2 hour) trying to figure out who I was. "You're from seattle? How do I know you? You have my video? I've never seen your picture before". etc

Chicka and I are trying to do some detective work.

As a matter of fact I did!!! He confirmed that yes, indeed, he has a black and white checkered kitchen floor, and cream colored carpet, in an apartment in a nice suburb.

I was just thinking about it again...it so doesn't make sense. I want to call that guy back and make him recognize me, but that's basically what I was trying to do for 1/2 hour and it didn't work.

I just did a public directory search for a "Luc Landry" in "Quebec" and There are plenty of them. But since you have his phone number you can narrow the search even further. Then look in his medical record and see if he's checked into a rehab center lately or anything else.

ya know maybe he has a friend or a brother that has his phone and anwsers it, cause then they'd know this stuff about him. Or maybe his phone WAS bugged and he made his voice deeper or something on purpose, and ACTED like he didn't know you! and, uh.... ah damn, I forgot where I was going with this.
