Since university was suddenly and impetuously ground to a halt,
Ive been living in lots of different places before ending up working in this shop.

From airport to coach station to rickshaw to boat,
To that kind of lifestyle myself again I could easily devote.
But what of the last 20 months living here
In this land where most fun revolves around drugs and beer.

Last year the war was still raging,
Battle with my X I was so constantly intent on engaging,
Last year was the end of a era and the start of something new,
I moved away from my problems and decided what I wanted to do.

Its fair to say that career wise im stagnant,who cares cos financially im kinda surviving,
And im surrounded by some amazing people and my heart and soul have recovered and are thriving.

I was proper crazy for a good 18 months but now I am more sane,
And ive learned from slug and life not to chase away the sun if I don’t want the rain.
I enjoy my job making people smile,
And flirting with interesting women every once in a while.

Everybody has to buy food,
I speak to the happy, the sad, the polite and the rude.
My comical point of connection with humanity,
Dressed in a outfit extinguishing any sense of vanity.
I like to work always around the public,
As I doin my bit to help spread some goodness to this world that’s sick.
Now the regulars smile as soon as they see me
And its this that fills me with a strange kind of glee,
Lifes better for yourself when youre nicer to everyone,
I digested this and now my cold mind has regained the warmth of the sun.

Now I concerned only with myself and my close family of friends,
And I don’t get bothered by bad things that destiny randomly sends.

The calmness of my being, the improving focus of my mind,
And the good friends ive managed to find.
Combine to give me mor ehappiness than ive had for a couple of years.
And confirm to me that fun can be had here without codka or beers.

So I learning new stuff and casually moving along,
My new path of life whilst doing good, no wrong.
