Animal has fallen head over heels in love and has been voluntarily locked in a tall tower with his maiden. I think he gets let out once a month to eat, sleep and shave, then its back for 4 more weeks of hard physical labour.

and judging by the posts here, maybe badass wass killed by the ninjas? Alas, poor badass - I knew him so well...
