IS a gram in canada the same as in us?

I've been here for a few months now and when i read posts sometimes i see someone saying that they smoked 5 grams of pot all in one shot or over a period of a few (3) hours..now i'm wondering..ARE YOU INSANE?
Like in Canada (quebec where i come from) one gram is not much but it's enough to get u baked. If u pack it tight u can have a 1g joint.
Now in the states i hear ppl smoking like 2g+ in one joint..i'm just wondering if the US uses a different measuring system then we do.
If not then american bud must be really crappy if u need more then 2 g's to get u baked.

a gram weighs a gram nomatter where you weigh it... maybe american weed is less potent than that which is in canada, so we need more?

Yes, as he said, a gram is a specific weight, that would be the same in Canada and the States. Different people have different tolerences. Some poeple could smoke a gram and be fine for hours. Some veteran smokers, or people that smoke alot, would prefer to smoke as you say, 5 grams in 3 hours.

i used to smoke about 1g to myself till one day i bad tripped and had my face in the toilet puking my nuts out...but after throwing up..it was the coolest high ever...
i went to sleep and put some calm ambient music on...i swear to god it felt as if i was flying through a valley...just flying..was so cool..cept for barfing...but i think now i don't smoke much cuz i'm fraid i'll BT again so i'm careful. I think now i'm fine tho...i can smoke 1g (.6 in a joint and the rest off the bong) anyway

A gram is a gram is a gram. People roll joints differently. Some like em fat, some like em small. Its all the same.

my friend smoked a 7 gram blunt yesterday by himself. he was so gone. yeah, those are some crazy stoners, but that doesn't mean their g's are different sizes, it just means they are indeed smoking shitloads.

i dunno, it also depends on ur dealer. Like, u have miles, we have kilomaters. I usally give grams 1.3 dimes. and a dime is .8 so, it might be different, cuz a nice 2g bowl would f&*# most people up. well does to me =]

lol like ppl said a gram is exactly the same but i guess its differnt potencies there or different weed obviously but i dunno me and my friends in the us the more weed we can get the better if we can get 5 grams for a 3 hour time we'll do it for like anhwere from 2-5 ppl the same is like if we can only get 1 gram we'll all be fine and just not get nearly as blazedi dunno in the us we smoke to get fucked up as much as possible i think it usually seems to be the case

you guys!!!! what are you on about, 5g in half an hour you must be smoking some shit weed.
I can make a quarter (7g) last a week and be cained all day every day from 9 in the morning to about three in the morning.
Smoking a couple of g's in a joint ad most ppl I know can't be asked to roll another.
