I am a fan of Downey Jnr. I love his eyes, and see similar sadness and depth that I see in my own. A crying shame I lack his prettiness! He plays roles often which suit what I have come to assume is his character; intelligent, broody, arrogant, playful, and well meaning. He was brilliant in Fur...which was the last time I saw him prior to Sherlock. The plot moves at a decent pace, the dialogue is fun, the cinematography is interesting and maintains my attention. Downey and Law mesh well enough. All in all, I was impressed, and enjoyed it swimmingly. Although part of this is due to my love of Downey, and another part due to my interest in olde england.

i found it wicked, bubbles...perhaps i can understand why a yankee would find it harder to relate to a VERY english story...but still...i ask...what failed you?

First off its 'canuck', second the movie couldnt get my attention. I wanted to like it, but it was not something i could ever find enjoyable.

i cant remember anything specific to the movie as i havent tried to watch it in a while, so the best i can say is i just did not find it the least bit interesting.

what do you mean by 'canuck'??? The only reference I hve in mind is Canada...for some reason I cannot presently explain...the canucks???

I really want to see this movie. The first one was awesome and had a great twist to it. It went one way then completely smacks you in the face!

Totally wouldn't put it past you if you did have a man crush, he is a so dreamy.

I liked this movie OK. The sequel is spectacular and I highly recommend it. It still takes a lot of liberties but it is a very good adaptation of Sherlock Holmes vs. Professor Moriarty. And they've got the character of Holmes spot on: drug addicted alcoholic yet a genius of observation and deduction, and someone who is sort of cold when it comes to personal relationships but isn't 100% aloof either.

Downey + Law make an awesome duo.

Also, it's a Guy Ritchie film. I can't remember one of his films which i've not liked.

Literally the first movie was grouse and so will the second one.
