I just started doing uni this year and Im doing well so far but im worried im smoking too much, i procrastinate alot even though i have good good grades so far. I just find it so hard to make myself do the work when im stoned, i mean i smoke every day and after a hard day of uni all i want is a nice big cone so when i get home i blaze up and chill and always leave my work to the last mintue.

are any of u guys in the same boat or similar? what can i do to get my work out the way and have more free time instead of being late all the time??

Man my smoke interferes with my work all the time, I should be studying this week but I haven't started yet, too busy chiefing. I try to keep my weed smoking to after dark, after all my classes and the gym. The best way for me to get anything done is to do all my work in the morning when I wake up before class. So my best advice is to wake up earlier and have a regular sleep schedule, I often wait until right before class to wake up but that's not very efficient at getting stuff done.

I took Chemical Engineering and I smoked basically everyday while in University. I had a very structured schedule. I would go to class and work out (gym or pool) till 5:30. Then spend till 9 having supper/doing work (normally 2 hours a day) and other daily stuff. Around 9-10 ever night good tv like DBZ was starting so I would get high and relax for a few hours. Around 12 I would spend an hour working on a paper and then go to bed watching late night comedies.

If you ensure your work is done first it won't matter if you smoke.

so i didnt go to uni, but i went to college and graduated with honors.

weed smoking never really interfered with school. sometimes i got baked between classes, but only certain classes.
when i had to write essays i was usually baked during brainstorming sessions.
but! i had clear cut rules for doing homework. 2 hours between toking and homework unless i was writing essays for my philosophy through film, or my aesthetics class

Currently going to the university here. For the same reason OP stated, I stopped smoking at the beginning of the semester. My grades to this point are good (GPA 3.55/4) but I was afraid smoking was... somehow... interfering. So I'm currently on a smoke break til my birthday in june.
I honestly don't find much difference permanently not smoking than smoking every day, but not being high while doing homework. I still procrastinate, but I do spend a lot more time on homework, mostly because the computer science class I'm in is hard as fuck this semester.

Yeah i limit my smoking to after midnight provided i have done some kind of standard of work i have set....
it all depends on workload etc.... the old cliche... reward rather than inspiration... unless im essay writing

I smoked (back when i could smoke) just a couple hits of some high quality herbs before class, it helped me relax and pay attention without getting super bored. I also maintained a nice little buzz while studying, and usually took one big rip before a test. I got A's in all of my classes except the one i had to write an very detailed research paper for. I slacked a lot in getting research and basicaly bombed my paper. Besides that, study high, take the test high, get high scores :bonghit:

oh and i think i should add that my brother also goes to college
and he smokes up before every class, in order to control his anxiety.
he has a mild form of tourette's and suffer from a lot of anxiety in school enviroments because of it.
getting high is the most effective way to control his symptoms.

I tried to when I started school again, but I have too much material to cover/research to remember it the next day if I do it high. I smoke ONLY after all my work is done, or I have absolutely nothing to do that day. I smoked before class with my buddy once, and won't do it again. I smoked before work once, and will never do it again.. it just makes the day drag on and I'm way less productive. I don't have the time to waste re-reading everything 10 times to fully grasp it. Even if I have nothing to do during the day, I usually don't smoke until later on when it's night out anyways.. it burns me out too much and I get lazy.

You pay THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of dollars to get yourself a great education, why waste it from being high? I'm trying to get the best bang for my buck

Im currently managin to work my way through a masters (heavilly maths oriented) at university, and i definitely smoke more now than i have before. Funny thing is i scrapped through my undergrade by the skin of my teeth...and didnt smoke dope back then, now im workin my way through 1/3 Oz (green) eachweek and generally achieve 70-80% (A's & B's) on course work and exams.

In no way am i suggesting dopes made me smarter, but there is a time and place for smoking dope ...(generally all the time and in every place... :) ) ...in the real world, where i only smoke once the days works done (from 5pm-1am).

Call it responsible dope management, same ethic when i was workin for a few years between my undergrade and this masters, 5 minutes after finishing time, spark up en route home (cycling or public transport) enjoy the journey and let the stresses dissipate into the past!
