Everyone name your favorite artists and maybe a little description why they're on your top.

Mine right now are..

Aesop Rock - He's packed full of meaningful songs in a very metaphoric sense. He's one of the only artists that I've listened to a hundred times and still don't fully understand what his songs mean in depth. He's a master wordsmith with the emotion of 1,000 mainstream rappers

Doctor Oscify - his music speaks to me more fluently for my life than any other artist I've heard

now this is where it gets hard to choose.. so I'll break my own rules (good start to a thread.. breakin ur own rules) and do a couple more

Tech n9ne - I got in to him from listening to kottonmouth kings.. I can't say he's the deepest writer, but he is an AMAZING song producer and from what I've heard, can throw a CRAZY ass concert with a mouth that can spit words faster and more fluently than almost any other artist out there

sage francis - I would put him on my top, but I've realized his songs are either a hit or miss with me. Either his story and song itself fits together perfectly creating an emotional storm of chaotic thought. He speaks the truth, and I see him as the wise man of the music industry just asking for others to hear his stories.

Atmosphere - well I'd have to say mostly slug on this one, because his freestyling skills are incredible.. Their older CD's weren't the best (usually a 1 hit wonder type CD) but as the group matured, their whole style changed for the best.. With Slugs down to earth voice, and his rhythmic story telling that always grasps you in to his world, let him be one of my most listened to artists

Sublime, yeah that's an extremely good pick too.. They're music is as relaxed and down to earth as it gets for how mainstream they got. I'm probably going to see slightly stoopid on July 31st. The tour is called 'cauzin vapors, legalize it' and the main bands are slightly stoopid, along with cypress hill, and collie buddz. I hope I get my parking tickets and car repairs paid off in time to get the tickets in time..

Parkway Drive- Pure eargasm

Mac Lethal- Awesome rapper. I can relate to most of songs. He is a total smartass. The Brokencyde remix of Get Crunk he did is pretty amaztastic.

1. Gorillaz.... absolutely. I have all their albums... they are almost always on when i am stoned lol...


2. Red Hot Chili Peppers.... This band has been their my whole life... literally... Their music has always been playing in the background of my life for over a decade now. It never really gets old either... I can always jam out to this band. Legendary...

3. Five Iron Frenzy.... Fun!!!! great band... Pretty much represents a big time in my life...

ONLY THREE?? Seriously? Man that's hard. I have soooo much fave music.... it gets so hard to just narrow it down. I guess I'll try.

1. Beatles...They have a song for every mood.
2. Bassnectar, just because he's awesome to hoop to. (electronic music counts right? heh)
3. And yeahh this one is hard... I guess I'd have to say Blink 182. I haven't come across any of their songs that I didn't like at some point.... It's so chipper sounding most of the times.... RHCP and Sublime are awesome as well...

Gorecore's Top 10 favorite musical artists

Gee...even though the amount to choose from went from 3 to 10, it's still tricky for an old stoner like me to choose 10.

In no particular order

1. First band that comes to mind is Radiohead. Even though they've been fairly popular since the early 90's, I only got into their music about 4 or 5 years ago when a friend recommended I check out their "OK Computer" disc. I was hooked from the first listen. I value and cherish every album they have released (with exception to Pablo Honey...couldn't really enjoy that one much). It's very difficult to pick a favorite song of theirs. If any, I'd choose "Scatterbrain". It reminds me of me during my daily walks. Living where I live brings many different forms of weather, and this song is especially poignant in the winter.

2. Tool - Been listening to these guys since high school. I remember seeing their video for the song "Sober" on MuchMusic and got goosebumps. Out of all their albums, the only one that took me a really long time to listen to and appreciate more was Lateralus. Now, it's my 2nd favorite Tool albums, first would be Aenima. Love the lyrics from this track:

3. Pink Floyd - At 8 years old, yes, I was listening to Michael Jackson and Duran Duran, but I was also listening to Pink Floyd's "The Wall" daily. It still remains one of my favorites.

4. Slayer - I'm more of a 'classic' Slayer fan. Albums like "Reign in Blood" and "Seasons in the Abyss" are Slayer classics. Their last few releases haven't impressed me that much.
