Hey guys, my friend just gave me a nice branch of his plant... got some bud off it, maybe like 7-10 grams... just wondering what is the best way to dry this bud out that I've already trimmed and picked... Got a couple parents though that wouldn't want to see this though so I need something safe... I have it in a bag right now that is mostly air free... should I get a glass jar or something and leave it for a week or two? thanks guys..

Yeah I read something in another thread created not so long ago about a guy that wanted to store his weed for a prolonged time.

Get a glass jar that seals airtight, then store it in a dark dry place and your weed should dry out without smell and molding.

I might be wrong, wait for others to reply before taking action :)

No....

You must dry the bud BEFORE putting it in a glass jar. The jar is for the curing process, not the drying process.

A paper bag or a screen is ok for drying bud. Lay it out and move it around a few times a day to ensure it's being properly ventilated and is not molding.

Once it's dry enough that the branches 'snap' when you bend them then you can transfer it into a jar. Open the jar atleast once a day and toss the buds around inside it. You still have to watch it for mold cause this process makes the dry buds sweat out some last bits of moisture

thanks for this... I'm gonna get one of those brown paper bags that people put mix candy in at the store just down the road and chuck my weed in that :D leaving it in a non-airsealed box under my bed is ok until it gets mostly dried (inside the bag)?

How do I check for mold... is it that white spidery web lookin shit?

Make sure you flip the buds around several times a day in the bag and for now I would suggest you leave the bag open to get more air in there. The fresher they are the more air they need

Molding buds will give of an ammonia smell and you'll see white or gray fuzzy stuff.

awesome, I've actually put them in a glass jar, with a kleenex lid (a jam jar except instead of the rubber/steal seal top just a tissue) I've also put the jar in a sock and only left the top part open, just to keep out more light.

anyone wanna guess how long it will take to dry out mostly so i can seal the jar with the right cover to cure it better? Hopefully have this sometime around when school starts.

Careful, you won't be getting enough air circulation in a glass jar. The point of the paper bag is that it will absord the moisture, unlike glass

The buds are dry when you break and branch and it "snaps" rather than bending.
