God ? Religion ?

Ya KNow....i been thinkin for years now. and im 16. how many gods are there ? seriously. How you know your worshiping the right one, what about the others raised to worshiping fish [no joke]. I dont think its right, sometimes i just think maybe we are evolved from animals, maybe tehre is no god. Maybe people just wondered and just came up with those weird conclusions, any opinions ?

Maybe religion is all in our heads, but it works, right? People need someone or something to answer to. Something to answer their questions and to lead them in the right direction. For little babies, it's the parents; for grown ups, it's religion. We all want to feel secure and safe with ourselves and with life, and God is the way for most people to feel safe. For those that don't believe in God, it's other things: cows, nature, or anything that a person is familiar with.

The definition of religion is:
A. Belief in and reverence for a supernatural power or powers regarded as creator and governor of the universe.
B. A personal or institutionalized system grounded in such belief and worship.

Basically, religion is what you make it. So, in my opinion, to answer your question, God or whatever you believe in was developed because man needed something to guide him. It just happened.

Also, this concerns prophets. I believe that prophets are in touch with something that most people can never get close to. Maybe Moses really did see God in a burning bush and recieve the ten commandments. Or maybe he just carved them on the stones himself. Maybe Muhammed really did recieve the word of Allah atop a mountain. Or, maybe they were both crazy. But no one will ever know. The human race needed something back then to beleive in when the world wasn't such a wonderful place and prophets were the ones that took charge and gave the people something to beleive in.

religion is like gambling, pick a religion if u strike gold in the afterlife u win, if u go to hell then u get the same effect as having no religion

god, religion, is all man's creation for the unknown. Think of how hard the world would be without a "god". Or just, some other "high (oh yes, pun intented)/supernatural being". Try explaining all of lifes unsolved questions...you can't...at least, not yet. So someone had to come up with something to get people to accept alturitive answers..This is the same reasion why the give u pure oxygen on an airplane. Oxygen gets you high, at 30,000 feet in the air, there is NO WAY ur going out an "emergency door"...so u become docile, u accept your fate when an air-to-ground emergency landing its at 600 miles an hour...people...read teh damn planfets!

i live near all these mennonites which is creepy, but ever since i was little i was raised protestant.
and even if i try to be an athiest or whatnot, it never works because i have this mindset that god is watching me.
i tried to be wiccan once, and i was always freaked out that god existed and he was gonna give me a lotta shit for being wiccan.
i dunno, my friend has like, no religion, but he's depressed all the time. at least with god you have someone to blame if you're sad about life.

who knows if there is a god? no one alive for sure... but people with near death experiences say there is definitly another place... and people that are catholic, like me, believe in god anyway because when we die we believe we will go to heaven and meet god... and if there is no god its not like we r gona get in trouble for nothing... but in my opinion having a belief helps get u through life... when there is a hard time we pary and go to church and have faith in something. and that helps. and i think its the same with everyone else who believes in some sort of spirit or god... and whether there is one or not it doesnt matter because there is no way of making everyone believe... i mean the only way to know is to see what happens after you die...
