how does that prove the sat is more standard, looks to be around 50/50. (plus sat is more prevalent in the east coast like i said)

Actually it is exactly 50/50 (unless you count D.C. in which case the SAT has one more state), I've just always thought of the ACT as an option to the SAT, because the SAT has been around much much longer. All colleges take both though.
The SAT has three 800 point sections (Math, Critical Reading, Writing), plus an essay. It's meant to test reasoning skills. The ACT I'm not so sure about its format, the max score is 36 and it's a composite score, so each section is 36 points and they average them, I'm not sure how many sections there are but I think it's more subject oriented.

30 on some practice ACT thing I took this year... No writing portion, but at 15 I guess that isn't bad? Friend of mine got a 32 and I punched him in the face.

I got a 28 I think. If I could have not taken the math section I would have done much better.

I got a 32, but that was before I started smokin the skunkey monkey so I guess it's not really relevant.
