Amphetamine on a drug test?

My friend had to take a drug test yesterday morning and we had smoked the night before.. he failed for THC and for amphetamine.. we looked it up and amphetamine is like meth.. but he swore to me that he hasnt ever done anything other than weed.. What could this be? is there a situation like with muffins with poppy seeds how that sets off the herion or something one..? anyone got any ideas?

he probably popped pills a day or two before that, but if he says he didn't do that then he's lying.

it could be laced, but chances are that he is just on ADD meds and doesnt know he's taking amphetamine. he shouldnt get in trouble for it..
