Smoking with patches

Ive been smoking, both cigs and weed for about 6 years now, and im on my 5th or so attempt to quit the cigs, this time with the help of nicotine patches. I dont have any intention to stop smoking draw tho, and ive been told that smoking cigs while wearing a patch can really fuck you up, and as i mix my joints with baccy im assuming it'll be the same.
So yeah, am i right in thinking that? If so, does anyone know how long i should wait between taking off a patch and having a joint to avoid negative effects.
Or have i been misinformed?

wait.. do this.. get off the patches ok? and smoke weed in joints with baccy.. but as time goes on put less and less baccy.. that will pretty much have the same effect as nicotine patches...and then you wont get fucked up? no?

I doubt that'd work, because for the nicotine patch it's supposed to make it so your body doesn't crave nicotine as much and you would have to smoke weed almost 10 times a day for that to even work.

The ONLY way you will quit smoking is if you really want to. If you don't truly desire to quit, you wont be able to.

If you've ever been addicted to cigarettes, you would know there's always that point in time while you're quitting when you feel like you don't need to quit and that one cigarette won't hurt and all that bullshit addiction brings. I've actually thrown out a pack of smokes, confident to quit and everything. What happened? I woke up the next day and told myself "just one.. ill just slow down first, then quit" then I started smoking more. It's not as easy as just truly desiring. It's a battle against your sanity if you ask me.

I know, but since you said, "Just one" you didn't truly want to quit. You have to find a way to hate it with all of your soul. I may be wrong in some cases, but I think I'm right on this one. You just can't allow that "one smoke". Oh and yes it is a battle against your sanity

. Good luck!

for the cigg smokers out there... if you really wanna quit.. imgaine this..... a world.... plagued for thousands of years by a substance that has no effect on the human mind...a governments distributing this substance, at a cost, the cost is money and the cost is eventually your life... money WASTED on killing yourself, money WASTED, which you could have used on something else
HEY look that sounds A FUCKING lot like tobacco???? heyyyy it is tobacco.... rigth now i thought about it... the government is selling you suicide... suicide is the act of killing oneself if i am not mistaken... how the hell can governments tell us that suicide is against the law when they are SELLING you SUICIDE, the very thing that is against the law??
to my mind... i see no logic in the situation of suicide... you pay hard earned money... you smoke this shit... you get no feeling from the shit....years later you die.... to put in short
You pay ----> you die
anyone wanna counter that? i dont smoke ciggs... so i guess i wouldnt know maybe?

cigs don't do nothing...it's just something that calms you down and gives you a small buzz, but it's addicting to get that buzz.

Stop there, sir, you are wrong. Tobacco has a very very pleasing effect, it just so happens to have a few terrible side effects (addiction, respiratory problems and whatnot). But you're right, if you don't smoke cigs, you wouldn't know. It's not something people smoke for no reason, if a nicotine addict always had their fix, they'd probably be in a much better mood than a non-cig smoker, and I think they'd be mentally healthier.
It also used to be advertised as an easy way to lose weight, because it curbs the appetite and raises the metabolism. If it weren't for all the side effects of cigarette smoke, nicotine would be a wonder drug for many people. Unfortunately nicotine patches and gums don't work nearly as well as smoking, so to get all the benefits of it you have to get all of the bad shit that comes along with it.
And don't use the "killing yourself" shtick, plenty of people in my family have smoked since their teen years, and they're still alive and kicking into their 60s and 70s. I'll admit that it's not the most healthy thing in the world, but it's been around for a long long time and if its risks outweighed its benefits people would have stopped fucking around with it long before now.
Don't want to hijack this thread in defense of tobacco though, he is trying to
quit after all. If that's what you want to do, then go for it, quitting is good. I just don't like it when people, especially people who have never smoked and don't know that smoking does have pleasing effects, preach to smokers about it. Yeah yeah, I heard all of that shit long before I ever even thought about smoking myself, if I want to do it, I'm going to go ahead and do it. Think about how you feel when uninformed people rip on cannabis. I say just let people be.

That's what's good about being an occasional smoker...like I'll smoke about a cig once a day or every other day just for the buzz, but I'm no where addicted to it and that's why I do it once a day. But I love the buzz you get from a strong cig especially if you haven't had on for a few days and you get so light headed from it.

Nicotine patches have enough to reduce your cravings, but not nearly enough to be satisfying in and of themselves. I'm pretty sure they don't give you a buzz. On that topic has anyone ever tried nicotine gum? When I was little I always thought nicotine gum would be such an easy way to quit smoking because the gum looked tasty, but I hear it's like licking an ashtray.

Smoke poppers. You're only smoking like a 5th of the tobacco you would in a cigarette, the tar gets filtered out in the water, and better yet, YOU GET TO SMOKE WEED WHILE YOU DO IT! WEEEE!
