Starting to use a journal

Ok so lately I've been really noticing at my house house how a lot of time I get treated so much worse than everyone else in my family mainly cuz I'm looked at as the family fuck up. So today I decided I'm going to write down everything that has been going on in my house and what happens in my every day life (excluding the stuff no one needs to know about ;-)) but today was a pretty good example on why I get treated bad and how how people lie but never believe what I say because I usually can't remember what people say (I have very bad short term memory) I've already written a good 1 and a half pages today of quotes from people including myself and how the day went and told my family about it. It's been really good for me I think to help out my anger problems and since I've been in a little bit of depression lately because of stuff in my personal life I hope it will help me realize how to sort things out a little bit better. The only thing that really kept me sane for a while was smoking weed and it helped me out cuz I never really thought of my problems as much and always had a better time while I had it in my system though, but it's been getting worse lately because I haven't smoked for a pretty long time.

So I'm wondering if anyone else ever used journals or anything like that to get through their daily life, and I've already talking to a few of my close friends and 2 of them already started doing this also because I told them how well it works.

ive never really kept a physicall journal, partly because i can barely read my own handwriting, and because my typing isnt the best. but i do have a journal equivalent i guess you could say. i do it by thinking, every night or every other night, whenever i get the chance, usually when im laying in bed waiting to fall asleep, i just think. about everything and anything, what happened that day good or bad, why it happened and so on. it makes me at peace with myself. i think that keeping a physical journal is kind of pointless (absolutely no offense, just my personal choice) mainly because i dont like to look back on things that happened in the past, nor do i need to after having my daily "thinks" things that happened in the past are in the past for a reason.

those are just my thoughts, if it helps you, keep on writing. if it has any effect near what my thinking has had on me, it will make you a much more appreciative, content and peaceful person.

yea, pretty much what i do is just to relieve stress and so i can make sure what people say and do is right in case i didn't imagine it.

I can relate to what you are saying because when i was having hard times with my dad i finally tried to write.

i only wrote 1 journal entry but i was SO mad at my mom and dad that i felt like i was gonna just fight my dad so i started to write and wrote 11 pages :?

i didn't even realize it but i was writing on the page so hard almost ripping it and i wrote so fast, it felt so good to get it off my mind and finally be able to reflect and see all my thoughts infront of me.

thats the only journal entry i wrote and i kept it by my bed for about 2 months until i was finally ready to move on and i didn't feel like that i needed that journal anymore because i had felt better and fixed my problems, i hoped this helped explain what writing can do, it surprised me cause i NEVER wrote like that, damn 11 pages lol

When i get annoyed, i play halo2 :D and take my anger out on the rascist rednecks that play on it.

writing is very therapeutic... i have never really kept a journal...
but i used to write a lot of lyrics to release...
now it comes out more in the form of art and graffing...
so i think as long as you have a way to release your personal emotions
or in your case spri7e... to keep a track of things... its healthy..

i love my nightly thinks. i would hate myself if i didnt just think and justify my day. helps me feel at peace with myself and helps me move on.

yea, sometimes I just lay in my bed for an hour or two (sometimes even more) and reflect on the day and go over every thing again in my mind.

I usually just jerk it when I'm laying in bed at night.

All kidding aside, I kept a journal for about two days. I can't keep up with scheduled routines like that.

I kept a journal when I was in school. It was a requirement, so I just drew pictures and labeled them.

I like to take my anger out by fightin. You get so tired that you don't feel you have the energy to be angry anymore, plus you're thinking about the fight.

I had a physical journal when I was like 8, did it until age 12.

Sometimes when I bump into it i'll read it, and laugh my ass off :)

i write a blog. in it i write about whatever the hell i want. my day, my thoughts, my hopes, an aweosme party or even some poetry if i feel liek it. i write about some very personal stuff, like once i wrote about this occasion where my ex came over to my house during his school lunch break and we shagged for as long as we were allowed and then he went back to school. writing about anything really helps me get my thought in order. now heres the weird spin. this is a public blog. anyone i know and even ppl i dont know can read it whenever they like and i dont mind

I keep a journal but i don't write in it everyday or anything. Whenever i get an idea i just write it down or if something in my life is going on, ill write it down simply to organize what i feel. I write down my crazy stoner thoughts.

Tips for journal keepers out there:

1.) Date everything, it seems lame and something left for school assignments but its important, believe me.
2.) Dont worry about the lines...just write, if it stays on the lines, thats fine. If not, it says something about how you felt when you write it. Ive written in my journal upside down, sideways, backwards...it all just depends.

Dont leave it lying out...my mom read my journal once after i wrote about how i was going to try some acid for my birthday, i wrote about some of my shroom trips too, luckly she didnt read that part. It was very disheartening when she brought that up agaist me when i recently got ticketed for wed. It feels horrible when someone does that (even though she has all the right to, dosent mean its right) .
