marsh/bog and other grow

Post by TYStonerTY »

Just behind my house there is a big forest with tons of trees where i was thinkin of growing weed. I went in there and dug up some soil. right now its really wet but in the next little while it should dry out a bit. the soil is totally black, its really good soil. there will be adequate water, soil, air, nutrients, and there should be at least 5 hours of light per day. my question is has anyone ever grown in a somewhat boggy area? in the summer the soil stays moist all the time, but do you think it will rot the roots? I plan to grow maybe 3 plants in there. any response is cool,
thanks 8)

hmm. if the soil is contstantly wet they can't get air through the roots, and yeah, you're right, they will rot. so i mean if its soaked, dont do it. but a little damp might be ok. I have a marsh behind my house too, i was thinking about doing the same thing.

You can't plant directly in the swamp. But you could plant on a raised surface in the bog. Say on a huge tree stump that sticks out of the water. (Obviously you would plant in buckets) Don't forget to evalute the risk of changing water levels tho.
