having a family discussion since i got busted i think i got most of them but i dont wanna miss any
heres what i got:::!!!

Positive:
-Increased sensation of touch, taste and sound.
-Increased camaraderie between friends (creates more of a brotherhood sense or sisterhood).
-Spurs deeper thinking of the world and culture.
-Increased creativity in art and literature.
-Laughing comes much easier
-Contentment with ones life

Medical:
-Can provide relief for sufferers of multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease and epilepsy
-Cannabis can also help to improve appetite and decrease weight loss in AIDS victims
-May be able to slow the growth of cancerous tumors.
-Can treat depression. Often times better than market drugs that have horrible side effects such as Impotence, and are highly addictive

No offense, but that's a terrible list of positives. Especially if you're trying to convince family members of your reasoning behind doing it. There's nothing there that would make someone be "ok" with doing it. And listing medical reasons is completely pointless, because you're not using it medicinally.

Haha, I agree completely.
To be honest, those reasons make you sound like a drug addict. What your parents are afraid of is probably that your grades get lower, you start hanging around with the wrong people, and possibly that you start using more hardcore drugs. I take it that you're still in school, considering the whole situation. Oh yeah, almost forgot since I'm in the Netherlands; they're probably afraid of you getting arrested aswell.
If you can prove that weed won't affect you in a bad way, then they might come around.
In short the stuff they probably want to hear, or that could kind of convince them: (Don't say all of this literally, try to adjust it to your current situation, sothat they feel it 'comes from the heart')
- Alcohol is more dangerous than weed. I'd also mention that you realise that alcohol isn't a good thing, and that you're just trying to put it in perspective.
- say you're taking it moderatly, don't even think about taking more dangerous drugs, and are completely 'satisfied' with the occasional toke.
- explain why you're using it, but maybe adjust your story a bit, just to be safer. Being honest will probably help
- If you're still in school, try to get good grades, or make some kind of deal that you will get good grades in return for you being 'allowed' to smoke occasionally. Also say you never have been to school high, as you realise that it does temperarily inhibits your learning skills. The last argument is especially helpfull if your parents said something like that.
Those arguments will help if they're true (taking it moderatly, no harddrugs, grades aren't deterring etc).
Final tip, just try to counter every argument they used. Don't say shit like "it makes me happy", because then the red-"using drugs to solve problems"-bell goes off. Just try to be a rational as you can, and show that you fully understand the risks. It all depends on how your parents are, and how they see weed-smokers. Ask what their fears are (regarding you smoking weed), have a conversation about them, and 'softly' try to debate.
Good luck. Keep in mind, these 'tips' only work if you mean them. Don't say "it doesn't affect my grades" when your average is 3/10. Your parents are probably just afraid of losing you to the evil weed drug, and want you to be safe.

...your life your rules...try telling your parents that, unless there complete push overs your ass is gonna be on the street. Take it from someone who knows, I had my buddy sleeping in my car for two and a half weeks...he had the same perspective. You wont act like such a hard ass after you've frozen your balls off in 20 degree weather.

You also have to think about this for your parents....if you say, "My life, my rules" then they can also say "My house, your out" saying "my life, my rules" seems to be reallllly selfish if you look at it in the way I am.
