I was looking for fertilizer via the lowes website mainley because I am a card holder there & found somthing in the plant food section called "Alaska fish fertilizer"all porpous deoderized fish emulsion.I thaught I read somwear that fish works great with weed.Any thoughts on this?

That's a good product, but it's used as an additive to fertilizing, not just alone.
Fish Emulsion is Nitrogen, you need a product that also contains some phosphorus, and potassium and other trace elements. At Lowes I think you should be able to gett Scotts or Schultz fertilizer
