I've been listening to this band lately. Its amazing. The album i've been listening to is surfing with the alien. Its all insturmental, and has the trippiest guitar work ever... you just have to hear it. I'll try to upload an album somewhere and post a link to it.
You could also get some songs off limewire.. especially look for :

Satch is really good...but I could never get into his music for some reason. I chose to search another path and it lead to my love for Steve Vai's music.
If you like Satriani, you'll like Vai just as much. I think Satriani was Vai's guitar teacher for awhile in the early 80's. Satriani also taught John Petrucci from Dream Theater as well.

I'd like to add that Satch Boogie is another really cool song of his. Satriani and Vai do have similar styles, but I think Satriani just rocks harder. Agreed, good stoned music.

I just picked up "Time Machine" by Joe Satriani the other day, and it's pretty sweet.

Joe Satriani is freaking amazing. I saw him live like a year ago, after the show we got to go back stage and meet him...it was pretty effin sweet. He signed my guitar =)

yngwie malmsteen is also in the same league as these guys he is most excellent, but all 3 play different styles but i still have to say my favourite is satch its just all that jazz and blues with all the mad trippy sounds in it, perfect sleeping music wen u had a nite of doobskies
