Bong water

Hey, recently bought my first bong and am way loving it over smoking js. Anyway, I was just wondering what exactly does the bong water filter out? Does it filter out the tar or just some of the other bad stuff? Also, will like REALLY cold water be worse at filtering the smoke cos I read that somewhere on this site.

well there are such thing as ice bongs which use the principle of really cold water and ice to improve the experience. so im just guessing that cold water can do no harm.

water cuts out all the inpurities that you shouldnt smoke :]

warm water filters it better, but cold water makes for a much nicer smoke. i only use warm water when the bong is either double chambered or has an ice guard.

What is an ice guard. Could i just put cold water/ice in a normal bong? sorry im new to this.

its when the chamber (the tube) is bent inwards near the bottom, so you can put ice in, without it getting in the bottom. you then fill the bottom with hot water, and the chamber with ice.

Ice cold is the best indeed...use regular water and the jsut stick some ice cubes in it...it makes a funny sound too lol
