Long term Abuse>>Lack of heart??

Post by weedguru_animal »

weed undoubtedly increases my mental power...and I choose to utilize that increased mental power all the time, by consuming a steady supply of marijuana...but can living your life with intense mental control lead to a life with less emotive awareness/control????

I think there is some truth to that last sentence, but its strange because good skunk generally intensifies my emotive state(in the short term) ....>>>>I become much warmer to people and the world around me in general, though the other side of that particular coin is an increased fragility.
for example when I’m straight, if someone upsets me, I get angry...
when I’m stoned and someone upsets me, sometimes I nearly cry!!!depending on the severity of the 'attack' but yes my potential for grief/sympathy/sadness are all madly intensified(or maybe just set to different more real human levels), by the weed...(and my propensity for conflict with any form of life is greatly diminished)

So this question has a few potential crossroads...
Do you think that Long term unchecked abuse of marijuana can lead to an increased state of mental awareness/control and/or a decreased state of emotive awareness/control???

and

How does marijuana, especially the real potent stuff, affect your emotions??, not long term but while your flying high???does it make you much easier to upset??????

hope that makes sense to some of you....

I understand exactly what you're talking about with the mental control and power, not sure about emotions though, I havn't really thought about that very much.

But weed can leave some people's lives almost unchanged, while others may have a dramatic change; mental, emotional, lifestyle, etc...

I know that marijuana definately increases me mental awareness, there is NO doubt about that.

As for my emotions...hmm...I haven't really put much thought into that, but I'll think about it the next time I smoke and I'll get back to you.
I think drugs have done some good things for us, and if you don't believe me, do me a favor. Go home tonight and burn all your albums, tapes, and cd's. Because the musicians who made all that great music...rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreal fucking high on drugs.

Long term affects, i think its possible that it affects emotions, but only certain ones. my romantic emotion has decreased, while my getpoonmakesmehappy emotion has increased. i get pussy, but i havent had a steady girlfriend in a while. My happiness and anger have stayed pretty much the same, and my sadness has decreased a little bit.

When im high, the only emotion affected is happiness, as im usually happy doing whatever, and it takes a lot to bum me out.

If you focus on just one aspect of yourself no mtter what medium it is you're doing it through, in this case marijuana, other aspects of your life will diminish if they are not given equal focus in turn.

As for weed affecting you emotionally in the long run, that is a deffinite yes. For me, in the moment of highness, I feel like not talking anything about my emotions or even what I'm feeling in general. It's hard to tell wether I'm either feeling the ether around me more so, or if it's not just a hazy setting induced purely by the THC. Like are the feelings thatI'm grabbing from the air actually there or are they just a wierd conception being fueled and given shape by the hydro.

I don't know how much more I can input on the topic at this time

Peace~

like zen said to much of anything is a bad thing, i use to smoke way to much weed and its not that it was physically hurting me but it was the only thing i would do. as far as the emotional side goes i think weed is great but when smoked constantly it can effect the way you react in situation sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad.

i also believe that marijuana has some beneficial effects just like canadianbud says in his sig. it opens are eyes to things we might have never realized before. i think this is true with marijuana as well as many other drugs such as mushrooms, different types of herbs, and lsd. they all open your eyes to things you would have never seen, experienced, or understood
