is weed illegal in the states? cuz im tryin to take some across teh border and im going through an airport.

The American justice system is a little different then most places. There are basically two forms of law the state and national level. While marijuana on the national level is illegal there are several states that have either decriminalized or made weed the least possible offense. This can also be broken down into the city level as in the cases of Denver and Seattle. For further information click on the above link and choose the state that you will be visiting.
As for coming in from another country via airport you will still have to go through customs. Which is all national so my advice would to be careful in your endeavors.

If they catch you in an airport with a decent amount of weed you are going to be arrested no doubt.
