Got bought some seeds for birthday....Whats the best way to.

Post by SOAD-FAN »

I got bought some seeds from our local stoners store and these are guranteed to be 99.9% female. What is the best way to grow these plants for the highest buzz and biggest yield? I am looking for the most cost effective way but do not need to worry about hiding plant as parents love the stuff!! LOL Well i eagerly await you replies and hope you can help.

Unless they are feminized seeds then there is no way of making it more female or male. Its just the luck of the draw. Head over to www.overgrow.com they will tell you everything

Feminised seeds DOES NOT mean that you are going to get all females either  Despite that it sounds like they should be!

You can germinate using the paper towel or cup of water method. If you need details, let me know.

For growing, first off you need lights. Ideal lights for the vegetative state are mercury vapor, next best in HPS, next best is full spectrum fluros. You can't just grow weed on a window sill. Well, yes you can, but don't expect the thing to ever bud.

The plant need a minimum of 18 hours light per day, most people do it 24 hours actually though..its faster. This is what you call the vegetative state.

When you want the plant to flower (grow bud) you need to switch the lights for 12 hours on, then 12 hours off. Flowering usually takes from 8-12 weeks deoending on the strain you have and the light setup.

REmember that pot plants can get very stinky, so you might want to consider using a carbon filter or something.

Also, the plants need real good ventialtion as the use CO2 to live. Lack off it, and the plants wind up dying?

Where are you planning on setting up the grow? In a closet or what?

Feminized seeds are not guaranteed female. When seed banks first started selling them, they called them "guaranteed female", but then too many customers got male and especially hermaphrodite plants and needless to say were not happy. So the seed banks stopped calling them "guaranteed famale" and started calling them "feminized" instead.

Feminized seeds are the result of a cross between an induced hermaphrodite pollen donor and a non-hermaphroditic seed mother. With the right individuals, this will result in a high percentage of predominantly female hermaphrodite offspring, that only express male flowers late in bloom, or under stress. A small percentage of offspring will be male, and a small percentage wil be non-hermaphrodite female.
