Please help with my new hobbie!

So I just got a really expensive camera, tomorrow I am getting a "pretty penny" video camera too"

My new hobbie is photography and I'm looking for a website to host pictures and maybe video clips too.

I'm an idiot and made an acount to myspace to try and do this. The pro's and the con's

Pro's:

1. It was free
2. Well known
3. I could put pictures on the site
4. I could put little captions under the picture explaining the picture
5. I could also write on the front page about my self and what I like to do,
why I was doing photography and how I was progessing.
6. People could leave comments.

Con's:
1. You had to be a member of myspace to look at my pictures.
2. You had to be on my friends list to leave a comment
3. I could not do video clips really unless it was like still frame pictures on
a slide show that I made. (I want to upload actual video)
4. YOU COULD ONLY HAVE 10 PICTURES!
5. Not a big fan of myspace.

So yeah, what I'm looking for is a site that I can upload pictures at least a fare amount. A site where I can upload video footage I take. A site that is free!
I love how people can leave comments and it would be great if you did not have to be a member to leave a comment. A site with a front page that I could write about my self or anything I want.

Again, and most of all, Something free.

Please, if any of you have a site in mind or a suggestion on how to go about this. It would be much greatful!

P.S Whats up luke!

Nice, I just got the 350D (the digital rebel was called 300D over here). Its pretty hard to take a bad shot with it tbh :) Its made me pretty lazy though using autofocus etc. all the time. Practically the only thing you have to change is film speed in program mode.

I've figured it out!

I'm going to do both and make another myspace acount and ether a "dev art" acount or use this other site I found, www.gfxartist.com.
I want to be able to put up both pictures I take from messing around with friends to actual art shots.

I have alot of friends who have moved away and it would fun to show them pictures of everything. So I guess I'm looking for the "social" part of putting pictures up. I found out I can post more then 10 pictures I just have to put them under "journal entries" I belive. Which is kind of the idea that drove me away from my space.
Every time I tought myspace, I would think of kids posting feelings up on the web looking for attention. Ha, I guess I was racist against myspace users.

So I will use myspace for the soical, having fun with friends part. And I will use one of the other two sites to show my actual art. I'll just advertise it all over my my-space page.

Thanx for the help guys, if you got more suggestions great!

p.s I was looking at your camera's WOW they are nice. Im using a fujifilm s5100 which from the looks of prices, you guys blow me out of the water. I'm going to LBCC next year and one of my classes will be photography so besides from my photography class in highschool, Im a noob.

I paid £700 but got the ultrasonic lense instead of the normal noisy motor and got a couple of 512MB flash cards thrown in. But then this is the UK so I wouldn't be suprised if you could knock £200 off that in some places especially if you can buy tax free.

It's really not that bad and considering it was my mother who bought it. One who goes in having no idea what she is doing.

I sort of stole it from her, "Ha"

Arik:"Mom I'm stealing this Because you never use it"
Mother: Ok son, just don't lose it and let me use it when I ask
Arik thinks (BWAHAha she probably allready forgot about it.)

You guys got any art worth showing?
