When I play tunes on my mp3 player, it just skips as if it were a scratched CD. Anyone got any idea what is causing this? Could it possibly be the headphones im using?

Not your headphones, when does it skip? Is there a certain psysical action that causes it? Certain songs? Certain modes?

Not actually sure, il play with it for a while. Thanks for the quick response btw.

How old are your batteries? If it takes normal types (not a built in rechargeable one) that can make them skip around.

It takes 1xAAA and they arent rechargeable ones, but they are energizer ultra which are sick batteries.


EDIT - The battery in the player has played about... 3-4 hours of music.

Should still be ok then. Have you tried just transfering the songs over again? If the transfer got messed up at all you could be getting drop out.

This is a very stupid thing to ask, but are you sure your not hitting buttons accidentally? I know I've thought I had locked mine before but infact it wasn't and I kept switching songs in my pocket.

is it when you hit it or something? some peoples cd players do that when you hit like a bump in the road in a car or somethin, other than that i have no idea.

Dude have you tried googling "My Mp3 player is skipping" ? I just did and it came up with all sorts of info on it. It may have something to do with an original formatted song such as "wmv" beign converted to whatever the hell your mp3 player plays.

This could be the problem. I've uploaded songs from a CD onto my computer and it was skipping on the computer, so, uh, yeah. Could be the file.

Thanks for all the replies people. But I think it was just a cheap player. I want one of those iPod mini things. This one will just have to do me until I get more money.

No, the files dont skip on my comp, only on the player, there may be a power problem with the player though, earlier it just cut off, but the batteries are like three quarters full

DUDE! Dont! i repeat DONT! Go anywhere near I-pod minis you will regret it after about 5 months...the battery runs out when you charge it properly overnight and it runs out at about 3 quarters of battery still left. You'd be better buying something better and newer.
