Are there any ways to make a bowl color change faster?

I bought a bowl a while ago (July 2004) for $35 and it hasn't color changed much, but I can see that it is. It has gotten really black with resin and it is taking a long time. I smoke out of it all the time too! does anyone know how to make it change color any faster
