No, im deadly serious. Lyrically he's a very clever guy, i dont see how someone who appreciates artists in the way you do can not like Canibus. Ok, maybe i went a little over the top calling him the greatest of all time, but i aint never heard lyrics by canibus i didnt feel. His wordplay and story telling are well above par, if anything lets him down his flow can get a little weak at times, but most of the shit that comes out his mouth really gets me nodding my head. It's a matter of opinion i guess, but give him a try sometime.

okay i started this post so long ago, its time i made an update to my personla favourites list.
I gotta say I a little surprised that so many people been electing enimen and even 50 cents as greatest rappers. Enimen has talent, he can ryhme wickedly , but that doesnt detract from the fact that he is a tool. He is like a white rapper who thinks hes a gangster, and im not saying that there arent any whiteys who come from the ghetto, but eminem is not gangstaer. i wil always accept that he is telented but it winds me up when people automatically think he is the cream of t he crop of white emcees, cos that is untrue. 50 cents is ajoke candidate surely, it drives me mad hearing him and nelly and even some dre produced stuff, they all part of a different kind of hiphop, a hiphop so commercial that its shit. the tried and tested formula of lots of naked women, swearing, talk of drugs and guns still seems to be enough to win worldwide acclaim. If you want to listent oa guy just cos he got shot lots fo times then check out mf grimm, cos he got shot 15 times and is a quality emcee.
I accept that not many people take time to search for proper music, because it is so easy to lay back and be flooded with shit from the tv from the radio from the posters, but I have taken time to search out my music and i sincerely think i have found some of th egreatest artists in the world, and i use the word 'artists' because these people are creating their beats and their rhymes how they want them to sound, faie enough they might no make such money as eminem or nelly(talking of nelly i can tbeliev that song called 'my place' got to number one in the uk, thats a fucking disgrace, he should be banned from the airwaves)but their music is so real you can feel it not just hear it.
normally when i enter into a discussion bout music i copme off sounding like musical snob but as i said i get so pissed off with people generalizing a genre from the pricks they see on mtv or hear on radio 1.

anyway back to my ideas of best emcee ever.
number 1- Still Slug(i dont listen to him as much now but hes still the king)
2- Mf DOom(close second, maybe due equal seating on the throne with slug, he has one of the smoothest flows ever)
3- Guru(yeh fuck it these three share the throne

all of them got wisdom, flow, talent, sincerity, heart.

other folk who are wicked are- mr lif, jedi mind tricks, j-Live, Sage francis, Eyedea, Self divine I, Sessimillia(Rest in peace), Mf Grimm, Mcenroe, Josh MArtinez, John Smith.

currently though if pushed i would go for MF doom.
