I'm reading Hey Nostradamus! again.

Are there any books that you guys would like to see made into movies? I'd like to see Philip Pulman's Dark Materials made into a good movie triology.

da vinci code/angels and demons by dan brown are great
Salmon of doubt by douglas adams is a great book, he wrote hitchikers guide to the galaxy and i think any drug user can appreciate that whole series

I also enjoyed the da vinci code, I think i learned a bit from it.
Stephen Kings books are brilliant I agree, I haven't read one for a fair few years, but he is the King of horror (sorry, bad pun)

One of my favourites has to be 'Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance' by Robert Pirsig, a classic on philosophy.

Nelson Demille - Gold Coast, Plum Island

Both good reads, Gold Coast especially. The main characters in both are what make the books, intelligent, funny and thought provoking.

The Far Side of Conciousness by Daniel Cohen

A pretty kool book from the 70s that discuss the possibilities and impossibilities to the concept of Mind over Matter, ESP, Astral Projection, Dreams, Prophecy and the general mysteries of the human mind and spirit. He writes from the first person perspective but does a good job of retracting his personal opinions and exploring both sides of the scientific debate as to wether there are alternate realities all on the same plane of existence.

Quite an interesting read

The Giver is a really really fucking good book, I'd give it 9/10. Shit opens your mind if you read it stoned.

I had a teacher read The Giver when I was in 6th grade. I thought it was great, though I should probably read it again.

Right now I'm supposed to be reading The Odyssey by the 17th... but I'm not really a fan of it.

I highly recommend Motorcycle Diaries. It chronicles Che Guevera's motorcycle roadtrip through South America before he decided to become a revolutionary. Also a kickass movie.

The World According To Clarkson

Great book. It's a compilation of some of the best articles written by Jeremy Clarkson. Yes, Jeremy Clarkson, the old guy off Top Gear. Turns out he's a brutally honest, devastatingly witty genius. Highly recommended.
