Heres a way to cut it without breaking the bulb-

+Cut the metal part at the bottom of the bulb in the middle.
Don't cut through the metal, but around it.

+Once you cut around the metal, half of the bottom part should come
off exposing the glass under it and a metal ring left.

+Now break the glass under the metal right with a pair of scissors. And
teak out all the crap.

+Now what you should have is a glass bulb, a metal ring of sorts with
nothing under it except a opening. Now you can proceed with the above steps. Believe me... this is worth it.

While reading this, it occured to me a flood lamp bulb might be more fitting (it has a flat bottom)

Maybe something that's not dimpled up and a bit smaller... To the hardware store tomorrow!

everyone seems to have trouble empting the lightbulb. what I do is after cutting the metal completly away there is a glass part that makes up the bulb...take a butter knife and tap it pretty roughly against this part eventually it breaks inside the bulb ad you empty it out. then there is wierd yellow/brown/green/blue stuff that you scrape off with the knife...It always works for me

(tip. I use a blow torch to heat the budz and my bulbs almost always break after two hits so watch out for heat)

Well I hope I'm not infecting myself with any needless chemicals by using this method but I made one tonight and just used it. I'm pretty baked right now and didn't even smoke that much; infact there's still some left in the bulb. Thanks for the directions, they are appreciated.

so ima try to make one tonight. this wont give off any smoke or smell right, so its like you can blaze in ur room and no one would know? its like perfect from what i hear...too good to be true?

edit-so im pretty lightheaded right now. feeling pretty sweet, and its easy to make. i cant beleive the soda cap fit so perfectly.

the first post said not to inhale? when? do you hit it or just cover all the holes and its supposed to fill up on its own and you clear it? ive tried both ways and feel pretty stoned so somethin worked, i just want to know the proper way.

i feel like an idiot. "How do i hit this?" i just lit it for like 10 secs then started super super slowly hitting it until i could taste it, and just drew on it for a long time. some parts of the glass turn black, should i take further away? and i still think it kinda smells. i think the first hit was smokey tho

If it's smoky than your making it too hot and its starting to burn, just put your lighter under it for 5 seconds then inhale it

Speaking of which, how do you know you've cleaned the bulb well enough?

BUY a real vape. Its sooo worth it. Rather than scraping chemicals off of jagged broken lightbulbs.

Chris, if you do it correctly, lightbulb vapes are safe, efficient, and ridiculously cheap. I don't know why so many kids are having trouble making them in this thread. They must be high. I understand the vast difference in quality between a lightbulb vaporizer and a commercial one, however some of us would like to spend that couple hundred $$ and buy an ounce instead of save it up for a real vape. Besides... While vaporizers rule, seeing smoke waft out of your facial orafices rules much harder
