Get a car and drive into the city. Not worth it to be paying 2x what you would in the city IMO

Re: how much do you pay?
Hey everyone I am new here
I just recently started smokin tha dope, and I only have 1 dealer (he used to be my friend in highschool). He only sells the highest grades of pot. He is trying to charge me $25 for Kush (dont know the exact strain...) I asked him how much I could get for $150 and he said a quarter of an ouce....is that good ?
BTW I live in the Birmingham, AL suburbs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Since I am new to pot should I just stick to mids or shwag ?

Re: how much do you pay?
Prices vary greatly from place to place. $150 for a 1/4 ounce is an absurd price for me...a quarter ounce of weed goes for $40-$50 bucks here. You can buy ounces for as little as $100... But my weed is cheap here cause of the shear abundance of it...everyone else on these boards pays way more than me. $150 for 7 grams still sounds outrageously expensive though...I dunno might be normal in your area, maybe not. There's no way for me to know really...
Edit: I just remembered this site...check it out
http://www.webehigh.com/city/detail.php?CITYID=2434
The info for my city on that site is very accurate..

Your friends an ass. $25 is too high for a g. $15, $20 most, regardless of where you live.
A quarter should NOT cost more than $90!!!!! $100 is the ABSOLUTE limit. You are making your friend rich, please, for your own sake, STOP buying from him. $150 can get you a HALF from a good dealer (TWICE as much as he quoted you).
Heres a ROUGH guideline of prices. I put an * to show what I estimate you SHOULD be paying
1g 15-20 *20
2g 25-35 *35
3.5g (eigth) 45-60 *55
7g (quarter) 75-95 *90
14g (half) 140-165 *150
28g (ounce) 275-320 *290
THOSE are the prices I pay and you should NOT deviate a large amount from those numbers. If he wants you to pay $110 a quarter, and the bud is WORTH it, then thats fine. If he wants you to pay $150 a quarter, no matter WHAT, thats not worth it.
People can say "it depends where you live" all they want, but weed prices dont fluctuate +/- 50% like this guy's "friend" is saying. Im willing to bet his "friend" buys at $20 from a street dealer, and then just resells to him to make some money. $150 a quarter is a joke. Makes me wonder how much he charges an eigth... lets see, 150 a quarter is 75 an eigth... 21 a g. LOL. Hes charging you $21/g rate for a quarter?
Tell that prick to fuck off and stop jipping you. You can choose not to, you can CHOOSE to keep getting ripped off, and you can even choose to pay $150 a quad if you want. Just know that someday you will look back on this and remember "I made a thread, and some guy told me to not keep getting ripped off, but I trusted my friend" then you will laugh at yourself
We have all been there before. We have all had friends rip us off. We might have even done the ripping off. Point of the story is this is something teenagers do to eachother to make a quick buck, SO - if possible find a new source. Actually, even if you think its impossible, find a new source. Its never impossible to find weed, you just got to try. You will be surprised at how much your money will buy, especially after buying at those rates.
Be thankful you asked the internet, I spent a long time getting ripped off, if I would have thought to ask earlier I could have saved a LOT of money. Learn from MY mistake, and dont get ripped off. Doesnt mean you cant be friends, just that, you found a new source

Uh dude...actually they do. 1 pound of weed here costs $800-$1200 and in some places it can cost $3000- $4000. Depends where you live...blackxs wrote:

Re: how much do you pay?
When talking extreme quantity like a pound it really matters more WHO not WHERE. In fact, it always matters WHO and not where. There are dealers around me that try to sell Os at $450, but that doesnt MEAN street prices here are $450 an O. If hes paying $150 a quad then he has a bad source, and needs to find a reasonable dealer. There will ALWAYS be affordable weed to be found, under normal circumstances (aka DEA didnt just raid some huge dealer, happened here awhile ago and it dried up for a bit).Weedguru Higher wrote:Uh dude...actually they do. 1 pound of weed here costs $800-$1200 and in some places it can cost $3000- $4000. Basically I dont think its fair to tell soemone prices as absurd as that are OK simply because he lives somewhere you dont. Most everyone I met online pays about $50 an eigth, give or take $10. That 20% difference is vastly different from the 60% markup his guys are quoting him at. I simply dont think his prices are within the margin of error, even accounting for differences in locale
And lots of other things matter more than where you live. How old you are, who you know, what you do, all affects the people you meet and thus the likelihood of finding a quality, affordable dealer. Its not like someone in some state CANT find weed at a certain price. Maybe they need to go a town over but its usually worth it to save $50

PRICE MAP

One of the things that jumps out clearly is the low prices associated with the marijuana production sites associated with Mendocino, Trinity and Humboldt County in California as well as Kentucky and Tennessee. See this National Drug Intelligence Center report on the distribution of marijuana production by state.
The map featured in WIRED is taken from a much more detailed research paper focused on the potential for user-generated data to shed light on underground economies such as marijuana use. The map relies upon thousands of user reports on marijuana purchases referenced to city locations from the Priceofweed website (see our earlier posting). After cleaning the data to get rid of the outliers, we created a continuous surface using a statistical interpolation technique known as kriging to identify the average variance among price differences through a spherical semivariogram model. To obtain a price for each location show in the map above, an interpolated value was estimated as a weighted average of prices from its twelve neighboring points.
One of the issues in generating these maps is how many observations we would require at each point (or city) before including it in interpolation. Increasing the number of observations (e.g., n > 10) helps control error in the average price at each point but limits the number of points. Lowering the sample size requirement (e.g., > 2) results in more points upon which to base the interpolation but increases price variance. In order to visualize these differences compare the map above (n > 2) with the map below (n > 10). While the first map shows a finer resolution of price variation (albeit with a decrease in the accuracy of the pricing data) it is consistent with the patterns resulting from the rougher resolution in the second map.

We’re in the process of finalizing a paper analyzing this data including a state and city-level multivariate analysis of price. Key explanatory variables in the models include the legality of medical marijuana, level of production and an intriguing distance decay effect as one moves away from Northern California

There's no way that can be accurate, shouldn't Colorado be on the low end of the price range? Whoever made that probably didn't differentiate schwag from good bud.

I edited and put in some more information, including a potential peer reveiwed article that you can read if you want to do some more research on the subject.

Re: how much do you pay?
It's not accurate. The only time you get an ounce for $100 anywhere in TN is if it's no good. There's no differentiation, as Ikku said.

Read the 25 page report. It addresses these issues.
