I don't think we would have to be more intelligent to do that, we would do that now if we wanted to, if we were more intelligent we would probably be making more powerful weapons. But I do see where you coming from and agree we should stop being so greedy.

We just haven't reached that stage yet, just because your the most intelligent being on the planet/galaxy/universe/whatever doesn't automatically mean you have reached the absolute height of intelligence does it. The most intelligent person in a class at school doesn't know everything do they.
Tho I reckon if more people did mescalin we'd live in a much better society

humans are diffferent from animals in that we are creative to an extent that we can invent things. (not like a monkey using a stick or somthing) and art, science, literature, animals only live to reproduce, they eat to stay alive, thats about it,

humans are getting smarter and smarter, there is wars only cause greed, which animals dont have(i dont think, unless its like a dog stealing a bone from another dog) greed starts the wars, for oil, land....

hrm...maybe, but school is pure effort. you could be the biggest pothead in the class, but if u put a great effort, and arn't getting the marks teachers will take that into consideration (take it from a Pothead who knows!). there are some projects that i've put hours and hours of work, and i get 95%+, and there are others i do the same thing, but i'll get round like 60%....but in the end, because of the effort i end up with a 90 overall....so it doesnt matter how intelligant you are, its all bout how hard you try.

and, on my last note bout killing ourselfs for pleasure, it's not because the person is phsycotic (well, maybe, but thats not my point =b). its because of the things around them. There is a city in the US that will give u a gun if u open up a bank account (im not saying where, but it is there, and its part of the NRA). Now, the death toll in the U.S. is 200,000 people are murdered each year, yet in japan, its only 40..40!!!!!! you know why?? because in japan its illeagl for ANYONE to own a gun, even law enforcement, unless they have speical permission. now, see my point? given the right sircomstances(sp?) anyone can do anything, but when some are easyer, it becomes less guilty to do. hence....200,000 to 40. (and, yes, these facts are 2 years old, but still makes a HUGE impact.)

Intellegence on an individual level should be geared towards achieving collective intelligence ie total commuication on all levels between all people.Collective intelligence should be the thing to aim for in the future. I don't think that intelligence beyond a certain level is encouraged in modern society. Nor is it neccessary. Most cats are more intelligent than humans I am sure of it. Birds are far better at singing and finding their way about. Who knows?

I don't think that intelligence beyond a certain level is encouraged in modern society. Nor is it neccessary.

How are we ever going to better ourselves then? That sums up the whole problem of society, no one cares about bettering themselves and are happy to live their mundane 'lives' being spoonfed everything without having to think or work for any of it, then spending the rest of their time moaning about their lot whilst some other idiot goes on about how theres always someone worse off than you.

If people did actually want to learn things, even if they seem trivial we'd do a much better job of actually piecing together the big picture. People are only interested in knowledge if it seems useful at the time, to build better tech or whatever, no one seems slightly interested in moving the human race forward on a spiritual level. I reckon we're just gonna get to a point where we can't go any further and everyone will suddenly see how mundane their lives actually are, how everything they've wasted their time doing (the new religions of shopping, sport etc.) are absolutely completely pointless and they'll realise they've never been happy.
We need to reach a higher spiritual plane for us to really progress anywhere.

If we are born into an enviroment we adapt to it. Intelligence is mostly a mixture of the application of common sense and good basic husbandry. Most people are potentially very intelligent. Those that achieve high intellegence somehow integrate common sense and husbandry and apply it to produce success in their chosen field.
